Golf Daiō is Bowser's second alter-ego in the Super Mario Land manga miniseries of the KC Deluxe series, during the events of the first two chapters of the third issue. This time around, Bowser wears a mechanical golf ball costume, with an ever-changing headgear shaped like the clubhead he intends to use. He also has various mechanical tentacles with a different clubhead. He has two ways to swing the ball: using the tentacles or charging and rolling in a ball and hitting the golf ball with his headgear. His powers include flying, summoning winds and sandstorms, altering the terrain, and a transforming laser. While, compared to his previous alter-ego, Bowser's identity is more clear, nobody, not even his minions, refers to him by his real name (before his costume is revealed, one Goomba even refers to him as King Tetris).
Bowser takes this identity as the owner of the Game Boy Club, trapping professional golfer Shanbo Ozaki in the club mascot robot-costume, Gorufuman Robo, to then trick people to become his slave: by signing the registration papers, the members are offered a chance to skip the registration fee by beating Gorufuman on three holes, but if they lose they become the club slaves. When Mario and Peach are attracted by the new club, they fall for the same trick, but take the challenge heads on. Golf Daiō supervise the scene from his blimp.
During the first hole, it is revealed that in case of a foul, beside an extra count on the score, a penalty will occur in which the player at fault will be spanked with a paper fan. When Peach is about to be subjected to this punishment, Golf Daiō orders Gorufuman to stop, but he refuses to go against the protocol, but he leaves her be after she falls into the water obstacle, considering it a fair punishment. To avoid similar incidents for his beloved, Golf Daiō sends a balled-up Goomba to replace her ball to avoid her other fouls, but the Goomba ends up doing his job too good, charmed by a kiss she gave to it to encourage the ball to go towards the hole.
During the second hole, Gorufuman tries to bait Mario into a foul by stealing his ball, but Ayako (an enslaved caddie) and the other enslaved gardeners expose his cheating, to which the mascot asks Golf Daiō for some help, and he zaps the gardeners into Cart Robo from his blimp. The effect of this transformation and the control of Gorufuman over Shanbo Ozaki end after Mario and Peach beat the mascot. Furious, Golf Daiō steps down the blimp to challenge Mario, but due to his ridiculous costume, nobody takes him seriously and everyone starts leaving. Even more furious, Golf Daiō transforms the gardeners into American cartoon characters, Peach into Peach Robo to replace Gorufuman, and switches the courses from the Japan version to the U.S.A. version. Mario accepts the challenge and, in a fit of jealousy after Ayako roots for Mario to win for the sake of everyone, Peach Robo forces her to be Golf Daiō's caddie, while she will be Mario's.
Thanks to Peach Robo following her protocol to sabotage Mario by passing him the wrong clubs, Golf Daiō takes the lead on the first hole, but loses it by getting stuck in a bunker at the second hole, resulting in a tie. To ensure his victory, Golf Daiō chooses the Hole 19 for their third and last course, based off the United States map. Golf Daiō uses a rotating shot when traversing the Great Lakes area so, when his ball falls into the water, thanks to the rotational force, the ball rolls back to shore. Using this, Mario taunts Golf Daiō into doing it again, but doing so, he lands on the green (the New York City area) and the strong rotational force rolls the ball back to the fairway, leaving a deep furrow that Mario uses to go inside the green. To avoid Mario getting the lead, Golf Daiō uses his powers to manipulate the terrain, and Mario's ball bumps on a mound and rolls in the shallow waters of the Niagara Falls area. While Mario struggles in finding the ball to avoid a penalty, Ayako tries to convince Peach to fight Peach Robo's protocol and help Mario, to which Golf Daiō swings a ball at her, accidentally wasting the shot.
Mario returns to the green and Golf Daiō alters the terrain again, rising the Statue of Liberty from under the terrain where Mario, the ball, and Ayako were standing, then he summons a strong wind and a sandstorm to further hinder Mario. Thanks to Ayako's pleads, Peach frees herself from the costume and indicates Mario the position of the hole. Golf Daiō flies at Mario to stop him, but Mario swings a "Super Mario Shot" that perforates his costume, blowing him up, then the ball bounces off his blimps and lands in the hole. With his defeat, the gardeners return to normal and Mario nominates himself the new King of Golf.
