Template:Coinpackbox The Gold Mushroom Pack is the first of two Coin Rush packs for New Super Mario Bros. 2 released on October 25th, 2012. The pack consists of courses filled with large amounts of coins and Gold Mushrooms. It is rated two out of five stars in difficulty, making it the easier pack of the two released in late October 2012.

This pack uses 2 blocks on the SD card when bought alone.

Course 1

Template:Levelbox This course is a sky level, with a foreground similar to that of Forest levels. There are two Goal Poles in this level. Most Gold Mushrooms appear from Flying Question Blocks.

Star Coins

  • Star Coin 1: On one platform, there is a Wiggler with two Flying Question Blocks, with the Star Coin between it. It can be obtained by bouncing off the Wiggler.
  • Star Coin 2: Some time after the Checkpoint Flag, one of the upper mushroom platforms has a line-guided Fuzzy, with the Star Coin above it.
  • Star Coin 3: Before the flagpole, there are three vines that the player can swing on. The Star Coin is located after the third one.

Enemies/obstacles

Course 2

Template:Levelbox

A mountain level with an icy ground and many Goombas.

Star Coins

  • Star Coin 1: The Star Coin is at the left end of the underground half of the stage. It can be reached with a wall jump.
  • Star Coin 2: The Star Coin is on the platform directly underneath the Checkpoint Flag. It can be reached by using the first tilting platform in the underground area.
  • Star Coin 3: After the midway point, the third Star Coin is after the Gold Ring, on the opposite end of the first tier of Brick Blocks.

Enemies/obstacles

Course 3

Template:Levelbox A cave level with mushroom platforms. Destroying any or all Piranha Plants on or near yellow pipes will result in a Gold Mushroom popping out of the pipes.

Star Coins

  • Star Coin 1: On the stretching mushroom platform before the Checkpoint Flag, the Star Coin is floating on the opposite side of it.
  • Star Coin 2: The pipe after the second rising mushroom platform in the second room leads to a bonus area containing the Star Coin.
  • Star Coin 3: Before the pipe leading to the end of the level, there is an alcove above the many pipes before then containing many coins and the Star Coin.
