Battle Course 4 is the last battle course of Super Mario Kart. It appears to be in Mario Circuit. Its form is a square, with walls and sand in the middle. It resembles Battle Course 1 of Mario Kart: Super Circuit, but bigger.
The course returns as a Retro Battle Course in Mario Kart Wii. If players are close enough to a wall, they can throw a shell over that wall without it hitting the wall. This is also true for Battle Course 3 in Mario Kart: Super Circuit.
Tournaments

A tournament took place on the Wii version of the track, where players had to collect a total of 50 coins. Various hazards did appear, such as oil slicks. It was the first tournament of March 2009, and it was later repeated as the first tournament of March 2011, the second of June 2012 and the first tournament of September of 2013.
