Hello and welcome to our very spooky Issue 211 costume party! Oh, you didn't get the invite? Well this is awkward... So, uh, anyways, we've got a lot of special art this month, all themed around either Halloween or our special subject, Anton! We have costumed portraits provided by Waluigi Time (talk) and TPG (talk). TPG also provided the main page background while the team backgrounds were provided by the returning-from-the-grave Ninja Squid (talk). The team banners were provided by the always-lovely BBQ Turtle (talk), and finally, the main page banner was drawn by former Scribble champion Yap (talk). But that's enough about spooky Halloween art! It's time to talk about the person this issue is all about: Anton.
It's Anton's 100th issue, which means that for over eight years Anton has been writing for The 'Shroom. From an ask column that once existed in Fake News (of which Dear Waluigi Time is a spiritual successor), to a short-lived and under-appreciated Fake News section me and him wrote together called Fightin' Footwear (a hybrid fashion/military gear review column), to finally Half-Baked Reviews, Anton's premier mostly food-related review section, Anton has put out high-quality work month after month over all those years. One of the most popular writers in The 'Shroom, Anton has not only won, I don't know, the last 1,000 Critic Corner SOTMs, but from 2017-2021 he won five consecutive either Favorite Veteran 'Shroom Writer or Favorite 'Shroom Writer awards. Since 2016, either Dear Anton or Half-Baked Reviews won six out of eight Favorite 'Shroom Sections of the Past Year awards, with Anton also winning, at various times, Favorite Core Staff, Favorite Section Design, and the Outstanding Community Achievement Award!
To celebrate his accomplishments, the Shroom Staff have decided to do a special one-off Staff-Baked Review where we looked at our favorite topics covered in Half-Baked Reviews. We also had Ninja Squid produce backgrounds based on Anton's favorite things, like milk, cheese, and snacks, but especially milk! I hope you all enjoy our tribute to Anton!

Hello everyone and welcome to our spooky and hypnotic issue specialized after Anton (talk). One-hundred issues ago, he was brought onto the 'Shroom crew as the Critic Corner Director. That was way back in July 2016! I was brought on too, but he made the feat of actually sticking around the whole time. Shortly after in Issue 114, he debuted Anton's Half-Baked Reviews, a staple of the team that's been under his curation all these years. To celebrate, a bunch of us in the staff have decided to honor his section, by reviewing a bunch of stuff! You can check out our collaboration here, as well as Anton's usual section over in Critic Corner.
On another note, we already got a few more responses for Poochy's Picks thanks to our new setup of putting it on each team. Keep it up! Writers love to get direct feedback, and participating in the form is a great way that you can do just that. I don't have anything else to say really, so please enjoy everything this fall-tastic Issue 211 has to offer!
