The second area

This level serves as an introduction to icy platforms and blocks, which invoke slippery traction on the player and can be used to slide below one-block tall passages while ducking. The player first needs to obtain the key at the top right, then activate the blue Color Switch and toss the key at the icy terrain to slide it through a small passage blocked off by a red Color Block. The player then must slide the key across the ice, then activate the red Color Switch to prevent it from sliding into a gap of spikes near the locked door. Once done, the player can use the key on the door and proceed.

In the second area, there are two Shy Guys patrolling the slippery ice at the bottom. The player must activate the yellow Color Switch to activate a yellow ladder and climb upwards, then hit the red Color Switch to activate a set of red platforms. From there, the player can either choose to get the 1-Up Mushroom just behind the red Color Switch or climb the activated platforms to reach the Mini-Mario.

Enemies[edit]

Present locations[edit]

  • Red: In the first area, in a one-block tall passageway just above the locked door.
  • Yellow: In the second area, near the starting point and just above a Shy Guy.
  • Blue: In the second area, just to the far left of the Mini-Mario. The player can perform a Handstand Jump to collect it, or use the Garbage Can as a foothold.
