The Golden Coliseum is a location from Paper Mario: Color Splash. The path leading here is unlocked after getting the yellow Mini Paint Star in Kiwano Temple, and when the yellow Big Paint Star in here is rescued, it will color the giant coin at Mondo Woods. Iggy is the boss of this area. The Ice Pick and Bottle Opener Things can be found here, as well as the Bone, which was stolen from Marmalade Valley.

Luigi can be found in the battle stand. The player needs to use the Cutout technique to find him. Mario will then be rewarded 300 coins.

Layout[edit]

After entering the level, Mario can talk to a Shy Guy and register for the Battle Royal event, only to find that he has been preregistered by someone. Inside the coliseum, Mario can investigate the storage room to find a group of Shy Guys searching for a Bone from Marmalade Valley. Dressing room 1 contains a fighting team called the Shai Guyz, room 2 contains a group of Shy Guys on stools and tables, and room 3 is locked. Mario must apply for the Battle Royal, after which he can access an elevated platform and go into the fight.

The announcer reveals that the Battle Royal was a trap for Mario. To win the Battle Royal, Mario must break the crates until he finds a Super Star, and use the invincibility to easily defeat the enemies (though it is possible to win without it). To win the prize, the yellow Big Paint Star, Mario must defeat Iggy. After taking enough damage, Iggy retreats and summons a Chariot Snifit and Chariot Bro. Mario cannot win this battle due to the Bone Thing missing, and must run away, exit the coliseum, and use the other entrance to go to the spectator seats.

From the 3rd level of the stands, Mario can sidle along the outer walls, and he must exit through the door with a Goomba outside, avoid or battle the Fuzzies, and jump over a loose board with a pit of spikes underneath. This leads him to an alcove with an Unfurl Block. After hitting it, he must go back to the door before the spikes, run to the 2nd level, and hammer a rolled-up object. It unfurls and covers up a pit of spikes. Mario can now go to the 1st floor, and step on another trapdoor while not above the spikes. This takes him to a back room where he can overhear the competitors in the dressing rooms.

By jumping through a window, Mario enters dressing room 3, with the Bone, along with members 2, 3, and 4 of the yellow Rescue Squad. He must go back to the 1st floor of the stands after squeezing the Bone. Instead of dropping down the trapdoor, Mario should continue past it and enter a room with five Goombas. After entering the rightmost door, he will drop down and can fall into the back rooms again, this time able to access the artillery area. Here, he can squeeze the Icepick and Bottle Opener Things.

After getting all the Things, Mario can return to fight Iggy. When all the enemies are lined up, he must use the Bone Thing, destroying the Chariot Bro and Chariot Snifit, along with Iggy's chariot. After taking more damage, Iggy gives Mario the Big Paint Star and is blown away by the wind.

After obtaining the Big Paint Star, Mario can return to the level to participate in the Battle Royal again. While the Super Star may be used again, Mario can also win it legitimately by fighting every enemy; the number of enemies seen in the background during battle slowly decreases, and the number of enemies present in the fight decreases. The enemies that battle Mario are chosen at random from whichever are alive. After defeating every enemy, the announcer congratulates Mario.
