Click-Clacks, also formatted Klick-Klack,[1][2] are enemies introduced in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. They are blue beetles with durable bodies.

History[edit]

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest[edit]

Click-Clacks are enemies in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. They appear in several levels in every world (except The Flying Krock and the Lost World). Like most enemies, Click-Clacks move around in a set pattern. Click-Clacks have to be jumped on twice to be defeated, with the first jump flipping the Click-Clack onto its back, leaving it defenseless to a second hit. Click-Clacks can be instantly defeated from either Diddy's Cartwheel Attack or Dixie's Helicopter Spin, by throwing a projectile, such as a barrel or kannonball at them, or if Diddy or Dixie pick up a Click-Clack lying on its back and throw it at another enemy.

Yellow Knik-Knaks behave like their successor in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! in that two jumps also defeat them, the first of which flips them over.

Donkey Kong Land 2[edit]

Click-Clacks are enemies in Donkey Kong Land 2. They behave identically to their first appearance, though the player is given control of Diddy or Dixie as they bounce back in midair after their first jump on a Click-Clack. Click-Clacks appear in fewer levels than in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. In the end credits, Click-Clacks are classified with "The Baddies."

DK: King of Swing / DK: Jungle Climber[edit]

Click-Clacks are enemies in both DK: King of Swing and DK: Jungle Climber. They patrol around Peg Boards. If attacked from the front, Click-Clack damages Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong.

Super Mario-kun[edit]

A Click-Clack (under its Japanese name, which is just Beetle) makes a brief cameo in Volume 14 of Super Mario-Kun. The last part of the book has a series of comics based on Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, including a 'find the differences' activity between several enemies, including Click-Clack.
