“Hey, it's a funny man. Should I play with him?”
Nana, Luigi's Mansion

Nana, the Scarf-Knitting Nanny is one of the ghosts from Luigi's Mansion.

Nana is found in Nana's Room in the third area of the mansion. When Luigi enters the room he sees Nana knitting a scarf and after knocking her nearby yarn balls onto the floor will provoke her into floating around the room on her rocking chair. Luigi must suck up the three yarn balls and hit Nana with them, all the while avoiding her needle eye beams, to expose her heart to attack. If Luigi misses when trying to hit Nana the balls, she cackles and disappears. The only way to make her appear is to exit the room and enter again. She tries to escape with medium pulls but she is unable to defeat the triumphant Luigi.

Trivia

  • Nana is the oldest portrait ghost (that has a known age) in Luigi's mansion.
  • In Nana's diary near the bookshelf, it is written that she once played a prank on Miss Petunia by putting ice in the bathtub she was in. This indicates a way to defeat Petunia.
  • Her name suggests that she is grandmother to one of the other ghosts, most likely related to Henry and Orville, as she owns the key to their room.
