Should this be moved to "Donkey Kong Card Game trading cards", because the name of the card game is "Donkey Kong Card Game"? PikaSamus (talk) 16:37, December 15, 2020 (EST)

Alternatively, just Gallery:Donkey Kong Card Game. PikaSamus (talk) 16:02, January 13, 2021 (EST)
Yeah, I agree it should be moved to "Gallery:Donkey Kong Card Game trading cards", although I think it would be better if we made a page for these, like the other trading card pages (that last one I don't get why it's not formatted like the others, like "List of [card series] trading cards"), so something like "List of Donkey Kong Card Game trading cards" would be good. Oh I also just remembered that Donkey Kong Card Game is also an actual thing, so we'd have to add a template to distinguish the two of them. --Metalex123 (talk) 15:49, October 10, 2021 (EDT)
Oh, I didn't know there were two Donkey Kong Card Games. PikaSamus (talk) 12:15, October 28, 2021 (EDT)
Reviving this to say that I also agree with moving it to something like "Gallery:Donkey Kong Card Game", especially since not all cards are about the cartoon. 1468z (talk) 16:55, December 8, 2024 (EST)
I would rather move this article to the main namespace (akin to the Mario Quiz Cards article or List of Mario Kart Wii trading cards) and rename it to something like "Donkey Kong Card Game (trading cards)" to disambiguate it from the other "Donkey Kong Card Game". Rename[edit]

A Yellow Block from Super Mario World This talk page section contains an unresolved talk page proposal. Please try to help and resolve the issue by voting or leaving a comment.

The current name of this gallery is problematic for two reasons:

  • Not all the cards pertain to the Donkey Kong Country television series; some of them feature elements from Donkey Kong 64 instead.
  • The topic of this gallery has a known official name: Donkey Kong Card Game (ドンキーコングカードゲーム), so the page title really should include it. However, since there is another "Donkey Kong Card Game", we should give it an identifier such as "(trading cards)".

Therefore, I propose to rename this gallery to Gallery:Donkey Kong Card Game (trading cards). And if someday we create a main-namespace article that describes in more details the card game (release info, the rules of the game, maybe a more detailed card list…), it could also be called Donkey Kong Card Game (trading cards).

Support: rename to "Donkey Kong Card Game (trading cards)"[edit]

  1. Jdtendo (talk) Per proposal.
  2. PrincessPeachFan (talk) The official name does it for me.
  3. Rykitu (talk) Per all.
  4. Camwoodstock (talk) If they're literally called the "Donkey Kong Card Game" cards, and it features cards with stuff beyond the cartoon, there's no reason to keep it at this weird, seemingly conjectural name. Per all.
  5. 1468z (talk) Per all.
  6. Kaptain Skurvy (talk) Yes - But don't include "Gallery" in the title. This is just a regular article with a bunch of images, similar to that of Nagatanien. This article isn't just about the images of the trading cards, as it includes information about it's release, creators, etc.

Oppose: keep name "Donkey Kong Country (television series) trading cards"[edit]

Comments (renamer slamma)[edit]

@Kaptain Skurvy I plan to split the release info currently on this page into a proper article that will also include more information from the archived website, such as the rules of the game, a description of card types, and so on. Once this is done, the introduction of the gallery page will be shortened to "This is a gallery of images for the trading card game Donkey Kong Card Game" with a link to the main article, similarly to other galleries. Ah, alright. Gotcha. Sorry, I think I misread paragraph at the top and got confused. I still agree with this proposal, though. Kaptain Skurvy Sprite of a Kannon in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. 11:59, January 29, 2025 (EST)
