Variant of Koopa Troopa

Suika Nokonoko is a species of Koopa Troopas whose shell resembles a watermelon. One member of this species is met in chapter 3 of Super Mario-kun Volume 13, in an alternate future where Bowser took over the Mushroom Kingdom following the Mario Brothers retirement.

Warped into the future by Princess Peach's golden statue, Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi find a watermelon that the latter tries to eat, only for the Koopa to come out of its shell and protesting. Shocked in seeing Mario, the Suika Nokonoko rolls away in a museum, followed by the heroes, that learns in the building what happened in this timeline. The Suika Nokonoko returns with the museum curator it just warned, Ludwig von Koopa, who starts battling the heroes. After that, the Suika Nokonoko is not seen again.
