- Trading Card description: "Some enemies just won't rest in peace! These boney Koopas will pace back and forth endlessly. When you stomp them, they'll collapse into a dusty pile. However, they will rebuild themselves a short while later. Dry Bones are immune to fire power, but you can use ice power to encase them in a cube and throw them aside."
Card Number: 29
- Notebook bio: "This bunch of bones was once a turtle. Stomping it will make it crumble, but it'll pop back up after a bit."

I'd like to ignore it and move on if possible
Is it really the turtle-guy who was defeated by Mario? If he has a cape, it can be defeated, but even if you step on it normally and break its bones, it will revive again after a while. The Dry Bones in World also throws bones.
- Website Bio (): "This crusty Koopa skeleton is a newcomer to the Mario Kart scene, after appearing as Mario's enemy in his many previous adventures. Great handling and acceleration are Dry Bones' strong suits but his low speed lets him down."

- Guide: "He's determined not to fall apart this time. In fact, that's an order from Dry Bowser himself!"
- Trading Card: "A ghoulish version of Koopa Troopa, Dry Bones is an obvious Light-weight and he graces you with his presence in Mario Kart Wii, but you have to jump through some hoops to unlock him. If you're into boosting your way around the tracks with Mini-Turbos, you can't go wrong with the speedy Dry Bones in your Kart!"

Dry Bones
|
|
NES Super Mario Bros. 3 |
A skeletal member of the Koopa Troopa family. Immune to fireballs, Dry Bones will fall apart when stomped upon, then reassemble moments later. They're typically found in dungeon levels in Mario games but have also been known to participate in various sports and activities such as baseball, kart racing, and soccer. They're likely boning up on the competition.

Dry Bones
|
|
They must have a bone to pick with Mario. No matter how many times he stomps them, these guys put themselves back together again. Can't they just rest in pieces? By the way, have you noticed how nimble they are in Mario Kart? Skeletons must be really aerodynamic or something...
|
How these guys are alive when they're just bones is anyone's guess. Jump on one to make it fall apart, but don't expect it to rest in pieces! It'll be back on its feet in no time. These oddly cute little guys also turn up in the Mario Kart series as lightweight racers. Probably because they don't have any skin or muscles weighing them down.

This is a Dry Bones. Dry Bones are skeletal remains from Koopa Troopas. Max HP: 8, Attack Power: 4, Defense Power: 2 Just when you think they're beat, these guys rise back up and attack again! You're going to have to beat them all at once. Or you could use fire attacks. If they become ashes, there's no way they'll recover.

Tattle Log #: 22
|
Log
|
A skeleton Koopa that sometimes builds friends. Even after it collapses at 0 HP, it will sometimes get back up.
|
Tattle
|
That's a Dry Bones. It's a former Koopa whose spirit animates its bones. Eeeeeek! That's so freaky! Max HP is 8, Attack is 5, and Defense is 2. When its HP goes down to 0, it collapses into a pile, but it'll eventually rise again. Fire and explosions will put a permanent end to it getting back up, though. A Dry Bones will sometimes build friends if it feels it's outnumbered. If you don't take them all out close together, they'll just keep coming back. Let's wipe them out all at once, and quick! These things totally freak me out!

- Official Nintendo Player's Guide: When a Dry Bones's head spins horizontally, it's about to attack Mario; vertically, it's about to attack Luigi.[4]
- Minion Quest: The Search for Bowser / Bowser Jr.'s Journey profile: Their calcium-deficent bodies are weak. They despise losing to Koopa Troopas.
- Stage mode: "Grants 5%/10%/15%/20%/25% chance of extra capsules (3) when all capsules have been used."
- Versus mode: "When next capsule appears, grants 10%/12%/14%/16%/18% chance it will be a rainbow capsule."
Dry Bones crumbles into a pile of dust and bones when you stomp on its head, but these skeletal Koopas always manage to put themselves back together.[5]
