Super Mario Bros. Wonder, is an upcoming 2D Super Mario game for the Nintendo Switch, announced during the June 21, 2023 Nintendo Direct. It features a new art style and power-ups, including the Wonder Flower, with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Princess Daisy, Yoshis of different colors, Blue Toad, and Yellow Toad as playable characters. It is the first full-fledged new 2D Mario game since New Super Mario Bros. U released over 10 years prior, is the first to not use the New Super Mario Bros. label since Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins, and is the first game to simply use "Super Mario Bros." for its title since Super Mario Bros. 3, excluding ports and remakes of other entries. It is planned to release on October 20, 2023.[4]
