Talk:The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!
Didn't inspector gadget make a guest appearance on the live action segments once? HK-47 21:58, 12 June 2006 (EDT)
- Now that I do not know. --Son of Suns 22:01, 12 June 2006 (EDT)
I read it on wikipedia somewhere, but now having watched every episode on DVD, I can't seem to find it. (On the DVD) HK-47 20:59, 13 June 2006 (EDT)
Ah... I see now! Gadget showed up in a live action-sequence on a FRIDAY. It was a Zelda episode! Also, wasn't the show also sponsered by reebok(sp) shoes? HK-47 12:07, 16 June 2006 (EDT)
How do you spell reebock???? HK
- Reebok (a.k.a. Reebok International Limited). --Son of Suns 12:25, 19 July 2006 (EDT)
Yes. on Friday, it was Mario and Luigi, same as in the week, but the cartoon was Zelda. Mada Mada Dane
He was played bu Maurice LaMarche, who also lent his voice to the IG cartoon, and who took over the role of Gadget after Adams retired. LaMarche also played the crazy electrician Edison. --The Iconoclast (talk) 00:21, 7 December 2012 (EST)
Merge
I think that the live action segments and cartoon segments of each episode should be lumped together in one article.
What I mean is that, episode 29 (Koopa Klaus/Little Marios) should have an article that goes over the whole thing, in stead of two articles that cover each separate segment.Waluigi Freak 99 15:11, 15 January 2007 (EST)
Perfect idea. You should suggest it as a pipeproject, and see if its worth an organized effort by many contributers, instead of just the few who read this! HK
- OK, it's almost done. Now I just have to make redirects from some of the individual episode pages to the main articles.Waluigi Freak 99 19:56, 15 January 2007 (EST)
- I got both volumes on half.com for around $20, unopened. Might check there. -- Ghost Jam 22:34, 23 January 2007 (EST)
Un, no, both volumes have all the episodes on them I think; next is The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, coming out in a few months, I think. -- Sir Grodus
- The DVDs have all 52 Episodes, but only 48 live action segments. I think some Episodes are titled wrong.
The preceding unsigned comment was added by Rouge2 (talk).
DVDs
I was going to add the DVD sets to the Merchandise page. However, would it be a better idea to add that information here and link to it from the Merchandise page, or the otherway around? There are only three sets (one from Trimark and two from Shout! Factory). -- Ghost Jam 01:58, 17 January 2007 (EST)
- Any comments or should I just do my own thing? -- Ghost Jam 22:46, 22 January 2007 (EST)
I'm going to add the DVDs to the Merchandise section, and link the notes in this article to them (and vice-versa). If there are no objections, I'll get on it in a few hours. -- Ghost Jam 22:57, 22 January 2007 (EST)
Old Colors
Do we need to say that the colors in this show are different than the modern appearance? I think everyone who knows about Mario would know that in the shows, their appearances was different. MamaWaluigi 01:08, 7 August 2007 (EDT)
Videos of the show including extras
Well, I got in the forums to this day, still bored as usual... Until there's a seemingly ignored topic posted in General Entertainment: Here There's actually a link to all of the episodes and including some nice extras, in this link. For those who wanted to write the episodes and live-segments, this is the place to get out most of the info you can... ;) RAP... I might want to draw my mansion, both inside and outside. :)
- Wow, RAP! Thanks very much! I wonder if they have the two live action segments that weren't on DVD? Stumpers! 01:18, 24 June 2008 (EDT)
- ...And what are those two live action segments named? ;) RAP... This dragon gets appreciation, beastly me...
- The Ghoul of My Dreams is one I believe. Stumpers! 02:41, 24 June 2008 (EDT)
- ...And what are those two live action segments named? ;) RAP... This dragon gets appreciation, beastly me...
Mushroom Kingdom was called what?
I'm trying to remember: did the show ever refer to the Mushroom Kingdom as "Mushroom Kingdom" or was it always "Mushroom Land"? Stumpers! 18:45, 16 October 2008 (EDT)
- It was called "Mushroom Kingdom". I have episodes on DVD. ;) SJ derp :P
- NO WAI! You have the entire SMBSS series on DVD? Me too. :D R.O.B. 128 I also have the SMW series, my fave episode is Mama Luigi. xD
- Do you have Sonic Underground or Donkey Kong? ☆R.O.B 128♂ 20:53, 16 October 2008 (EDT)
Run time
Does the run-time listed in the infobox include or exclude the 10 minute commercial break? - Cobold (talk · contribs) 18:32, 7 March 2010 (EST)
- It includes the commercial breaks (just look up the vids on YouTube: they're only about 22 minutes, which is pretty standard for NA cartoons, afaik). - Walkazo 12:02, 14 June 2011 (EDT)
What is this episode?
When the Nostalgia Critic reviewed this series, he noticed that the time left until the place was going to explode was 5:99 in one place and 15:99 in another. Which episode is this? PoisonMushroom 17:28, 17 November 2011 (EST)
Wrong Link
I clicked on the link to King Koopa and then the article of Bowser showed up. Whats the deal with that? Links on this wiki should match the correct articles.
- The links aren't incorrect; King Koopa and Bowser are one and the same, hence why the link goes to his page.
Legend of Zelda Live-Action Segments
Where can you veiw the live-action segments that only appeared on the Friday LoZ episodes? Jdrawer (talk) 11:11, 23 February 2013 (EST)
King Koopa is supposed to be wart from super mario bros 2. I mean hello don't you see Mouser, his minions are afraid of veggies and king Koopa Don't you see it! Dasiy 187
- I'm sure he alludes to Wart, but that doesn't make him Wart. Ray Trace(T|C) 21:34, 5 April 2013 (EDT)
trivia
numerous characters/spieces have been referenced troughout the show, through debuting a lot later. examples: a wario-like character appeared in Plumbers Academy Spear guy-like Shy guys appeared in Jungle fever
Foreign intros/songs
German intros/songs are kind of a translation of the English ones. The Italian intro song is a new song.
Should non-English song texts be put in this article (like it was partly done with Spanish and Italian before) or put in an own article, like "Foreign Super Mario Super Bros. Super Show songs"?
German intro:
[Mario:]
Hallo, Freunde!
Jetzt kommt die Super Mario Brothers Super Show!
Au!
immer schneller, niemals müde;
Fahrt ab auf die Brüder!
Hu!
Fahrt ab auf die Brüder!
Gimme, gimme!
Gimme, gimme!
Wow! Jetzt geht's ab, so halt dich fest am Sitz,
immer Abenteuer und gigantische Tricks.
Es gibt Koopas und Troopas,
die Prinzessin und die ander'n -
[halt an mein Bruder | bleibt dran am Ruder]!
Fahrt ab auf die Brüder! [Gimme | ... to the brink]!
Uh! Uh!
- For the 2 "[<variant A> | <variant B>]" parts: not sure, what's the correct one, but I guess, the B variant seems more fitting.
German cartoon part intro:
Gimme, gimme, gimme; yo, yo.
Uh!
German extro:
Macht den Mario!
Schwingt die Arme auf und ab;
setzt euch jetzt in Trab.
Super Mario!
Ein Schritt vor
und noch einmal;
hey, tanzt den Mario!
Meine Freunde, ja!
So geht's!
Das ist der Mario!
Macht den Mario!
Schwingt die Arme auf und ab;
setzt euch jetzt in Trab.
Super Mario!
Ein Schritt vor
und noch einmal;
hey, tanzt den Mario!
Meine Freunde, ja!
Tanzt den Mario.
Ja~, so~ ge~ht's!
German The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3 intro:
- Maybe just in re-airings (or even redubbed versions) and in the original version with the German SMBSS intro or a shortend version of it.
Diese Legende wird niemals in Vergessenheit geraten:
Alle dachten, daß König Koopa das Pilzewunderland für immer verlassen hatte;
German Super Mario World intro:
- The German SMBSS intro shortend (beginning and end got cut), only from "Au! Wir sind die Mario Brothers" till "Uh! Uh!"; or maybe in re-airings the English one: List of Songs in Super Mario World#Theme Song
Other German Mario related intros for the Zelda cartoon (no song, similar to the English version), Donkey Kong Country (television series) (Donkey Kongs Abenteuer) and Captain N do exist.
Captain N season 1 intro:
[Erzähler:] Willkommen in Video Land.
[Megaman:] Und haltet die Ohren steif.
[Prinzessin Lana:] Wach auf, Kid Icarus.
[Simon Belmont:]
Ich eile, Prinzessin.
Juhuu!
[Kevin:] Oh man; Kongo Land.
[Mother Brain:]
Dich werd' ich schon kriegen, Prinzesschen.
Whahahaha.
[Kevin:]
Ah.
Ah. Ah. Oh.
[Erzähler:] Captain N der Game Master.
- With just the intro, it's unclear if it should be "großen Dimensionstunnel" or "Großen Dimensionstunnel" - which is different like "weißes Haus" (white house) and "Weißes Haus" (White House, building in the USA).
English Translation:
[Narrator:] Welcome to Video Land.
[Megaman:] And keep a stiff upper lip.
[Princess Lana:] Wake up, Kid Icarus.
[Simon Belmont:]
I'm hurrying, princess.
Yohoo.
[Kevin:] Oh, man; Kongo Land.
[Mother Brain:]
I will get you, little princes.
Whahahaha.
[Kid Icarus:] Princess, our palace is under siege.
[Narrator:] Through the [great|Great] Dimension's Tunnel (Ultimate Warp Zone) he will come.
[Kevin:] Wow!
[Kevin's mother:] Kevin, haven't I told you that you should clean out your room.
[Kevin:]
Ah.
Ah. Ah. Oh.
[Narrator:] Captain N the Game Master.
Captain N season 2 & 3 intro:
- Season 2 intro is instrumental (no text, no song, no lyrics), and season 3 wasn't localised in Germany in the 1990s (but in 2010; src: zeichentrickserien.de).
German TLoZ intro:
- Text can be found at zeldapendium, but like the English one it requires additional text of what's happening on screen. Telling of the English on-screen parts is at zeldawiki, and it's similar in the German version though audio-related things like "Ganon laughs maniacally" are not necessary true.
German DKC intro (German series title: Donkey Kongs Abenteuer):
- Text can be found at MarioWiki and MarioWiki(a).
Italian intro:
- Song is "Super Mario" sung by Cristina D'Avena resp. a part of the complete song. Lyrics kind of accourding to a youtube video description:
Davvero!
Con Super Mario chi lo sa,
cosa presto vi accadrà,
è un temerario che se ne va,
per le fiabe qua e là,
con gran coraggio salverà,
chi nei guai si caccerà,
che tipo sgaggio, eccolo qua!
Davvero?
Davvero?
Davvero!
Spanish intro:
- Lyrics kind of accourding to a youtube video description:
¡Me encanta!
Con Super Mario ya verás
como te lo pasarás
sus aventuras seguirás
ni una sola perderás.
Dejalo todo ven aquí
que te vas a divertir
todo esta listo
vamos allá.
¡Me encanta!
Era un rey, tan malvado que...
tuvo que irse de su reino
Koopa el rey quiere regresar
invadiendo su pais
Amigo Super Mario
lo tienes que impedir
el reino de las setas es feliz.
Si vuelve aquí el malvado
el reino cambiará
y perderá su gran felicidad.
Ven Super Mario
es necesario
que uses tu gran poder
y que derrotes
a un adversario
dificil de vencer.
Es Super Mario
extraordinario
luchando contra el mal
Luigi su hermano
le hecha una mano
y otra vez ganarán.
¡Me encanta!
¡Me encanta!

- [quote end]
- That's just a translation of the Spanish intro (at best; maybe just a tool "translation" like from google) as Spanish and Italien intro are different in both language (Spanish and Italian are different languages) and song text (Spanish one mentions Luigi in the end, the Italian doesn't.
