Catbat is the boss of the Sapphire Passage in the Game Boy Advance game Wario Land 4. It is a large, ghost-like cat with a bat on his head. This monster has the features and wings of a bat, and Catbat is able to fly in the air. Catbat's battle area has a pool of water in the floor, with a Drill Fish swimming back and forth through the water. In order to defeat the Catbat, Wario must ride on the waves Catbat creates when it crashes into the pool and ram into it's Bat Head, all the while Wario must avoid the Cough Viruses that Catbat spits out. If Wario touches a purple Cough Virus, he will become Puffy Wario and float upwards, wasting valuable time. After enough hits, the bat head disappears and the Viruses become red. This time, they will damage Wario (instead of transforming him). When on the newly undulating wave, Wario must jump off and ground pound Catbat's head. After enough hits, Catbat is defeated and Wario is rewarded with the creature's Bracelets.

The time given to defeat the boss varies on the game mode.
