Crown Capture in Wandering Woods is the seventeenth level of the Special Episode in the Nintendo Switch version of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. It takes place in a lightly altered version of Midnight in the Wandering Woods.

Layout

The first Crown Chip appears on a platform just adjacent to the player's starting point, and must be obtained by traversing some Stumpers to it. Afterwards, the next Crown Chip appears on a platform directly above the first one, and the player must go through a yellow Warp Pipe and evade some Boos to collect it. The third Crown Chip is atop the highest platform, forcing the player to enter another Warp Pipe and evade more Boos to obtain it. The fourth Crown Chip is at the lower level platform close to some Stumpers, forcing the player to drop back down and ride said Stumpers to collect it. Afterwards, to collect the fifth Crown Chip, the player must return to the ground level and use another ramp to wait on some Stumpers to reach another platform. The Shiny Crown then appears on a higher-up platform accessible via two Warp Pipes.

Super Gems

Three Super Gems can be found throughout the level.

  • Super Gem 1: Only obtainable between the second and third Crown Chip, on the same platform as the former. The player must simply walk over while evading Boos to reach it.
  • Super Gem 2: Only obtainable between the third and fourth Crown Chip, at the same point the first Crown Chip was. The player must simply drop down there while evading some Boos in order to obtain it.
  • Super Gem 3: Only obtainable between the fourth and fifth Crown Chip, in a gap just below the latter. The player must simply go over there after the Stumpers move to another side.
