Crown Capture at Up 'n' Down Terrace is the ninth level of the Special Episode in the Nintendo Switch version of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. It takes place in a lightly altered version of Up 'n' Down Terrace.

Layout[edit]

The first Crown Chip appears on a disconnected hedge close to the player's starting point, and must be obtained by climbing a ladder and activating a P Switch to reach said point. Afterwards, the next Crown Chip appears in a hedge alcove close to the first one, and the player must drop to the ground and go around the hedges to collect it. The third Crown Chip is at the lower level of a nearby white gate, forcing the player to activate a nearby P Switch and run over to obtain it. The fourth Crown Chip is at the lower level of a brown gate further down, forcing the player to activate a P Switch on the other side of the loop to collect it. Afterwards, to collect the fifth Crown Chip, the player must return to the fork near where the third Crown Chip was and activate a P Switch near a close-by ladder, and then climb said ladder and cross the brown gate. The Shiny Crown then appears on the same hedge where the fifth Crown Chip was.

Super Gems[edit]

Three Super Gems can be found throughout the level.

  • Super Gem 1: Only obtainable between the second and third Crown Chip, adjacent to the former. The player must travel through a gap in the hedges to collect it.
  • Super Gem 2: Only obtainable between the third and fourth Crown Chip, on the lower level of the brown gate directly adjacent to the former. The player must hit the same P Switch required to collect the latter in order to obtain it.
  • Super Gem 3: Only obtainable between the fourth and fifth Crown Chip, on top of the same P Switch used to collect the former.
