Lylat Cruise is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Unlike previous Star Fox stages, this one takes place on a ship called the Pleiades, and not the Great Fox. The ship will pass through the Lylat System. It plunges through many obstacles, including the Core of an asteroid, in the atmosphere of Corneria, and even through a space battle. The Arwings also shoot the players on the stage, just like they did in the last two games. In Ultimate, the Arwings' design has been updated to match their appearance in Star Fox Zero. Fox McCloud, Falco Lombardi, and Wolf O'Donnell can communicate with other Star Fox and Star Wolf members by using their Smash Taunts, similar to how Solid Snake can communicate to other Metal Gear characters on Shadow Moses Island. Barrels and Crates in this stage take the "futuristic" style. As Masahiro Sakurai and his translators point out in the Smash Bros. DOJO!!, although it is set in space, gravity does not change.

This stage has a minor role in The Subspace Emissary. After defeating Tabuu, the player can go back to The Ruins. When lowered into the pit, there is an extra red door at the bottom of the pit. The player must enter it to face Wolf in the Lylat Cruise. If he is defeated, Wolf is unlocked.

The Final Destination variant in Wii U and Ultimate does not tilt and removes the three smaller platforms. The main platform is completely flat. The stage does not warp and only features the Star Fox and Star Wolf dogfight.

In both Brawl and Ultimate, the unlock match for Wolf takes place here; in the former, this is also true of the unlock match for Falco.

Non-playable Star Fox characters trophy information

The characters below make an appearance during the Smash Taunt.

Name Image Description
Peppy Hare BrawlTrophy192.png A member of the original Star Fox team. Peppy Hare was an esteemed pilot, now retired and currently commanding the Star Fox team from the mother ship, the Great Fox. Although he's known for a propensity for nagging, the praise and trust his team gives him hasn't changed throughout the years.
Slippy Toad BrawlTrophy193.png A top-notch mechanic with less-than-stellar battle skills. Respected for his talent, he joins the Star Fox team and shows his mechanical genius in everything from vehicle maintenance to weapons development. Slippy often holds the team back with his clumsiness but makes up for it with his likeable personality and morale-boosting presence.
Krystal BrawlTrophy194.png A member of the Star Fox team welcomed in Star Fox Adventures after the team met her on planet Sauria when responding to a distress signal. Krystal is capable of telepathy and is a valuable member in combat. After becoming romantically involved with Fox, their relationship gets very rocky in Star Fox Command.
Panther Caroso BrawlTrophy198.png The newest member of the Star Wolf team, rivals of Team Star Fox. A show-off who often embarrasses his teammates, he considers himself quite the ladies' cat and can hardly contain himself from making passes at attractive females, including Krystal, who he's clearly smitten with. Panther's trademark is a red rose. All things said, he's still a highly skilled pilot.
Leon Powalski BrawlTrophy199.png A member of the Star Wolf team and a cold-blooded assassin. Without an inkling of goodwill or moral standing, Leon carries out duties as required by the job, remaining indifferent and robotic throughout. On top of his lethal skills, he maintains a solid reputation as a skilled pilot. Leon has been a teammate of Wolf's ever since belonging to the Venom army.
