Super Mario Adventure Game DX is a board game published by Epoch Games in 2022.[1] It is one of many games by Epoch based on the Super Mario franchise, including Super Mario Fire Mario Stadium, Super Mario Blow Up Shaky Tower, and Super Mario Piranha Plant Escape!. The gameplay consists of guiding a ball through paths of pipe slides through Bowser's Castle using buttons and knobs, ultimately defeating Kamek at the end.
Two other versions of the game, Super Mario Adventure Game Jr. and Super Mario Adventure Challenge, were released in 2009[2] and 2023[3], respectively.
Gameplay
To begin play, the player first needs to place a ball in the pipe behind a Mario standee and press button A, which is located in front of a image of a Dry Bones. The ball will roll down a slide and drop itself next to a Piranha Plant, where the player needs to press button B, located near an image of Bowser marking the "OUT" space, to make the ball jump over it. Afterwards, the ball rolls towards a wall climb with platforms consisting of Brick and ? Blocks; the player needs to press button A on each platform to launch it to the next platform. Afterwards, the ball roll into an area consisting of wheels, each consisting of two Boos and a Fire Bar. The player needs to turn knob D, located between the wheels, to turn them and carry the ball to the next slide, where a standee of Yoshi awaits.
At Yoshi's location is a split that can carry the player's ball down two different paths: taking the left path takes the player's ball into a pipe tower, where a standee of Luigi can be seen on top of it; taking the right path takes the ball down to a Hammer Bro standee. The player can control the direction by turning knob E, located near the Hammer Bro, by either blocking the path to the pipe tower or leaving it open.
In the pipe tower, another split is present: the ball will either roll down to a ramp of guarded by two Thwomps, which the player needs to raise by pressing buttons B and C to allow their ball to pass, the latter of which is to right of button B, or it will roll down a slide towards the Hammer Bro, which will redirect the player's ball off the slide if the player does not raise it by pressing button C. Traveling down the Thwomp ramp or failing to raise the Hammer Bro takes the player's ball to the "OUT" space, at which the point the player has lost and needs to place their ball back in the pipe behind Mario to try again.
If the player makes it past the Hammer Bro, they will meet their final challenge: defeating Kamek. The player needs to launch the ball by pressing button A. If the player's hits the stand underneath the Kamek standee, Kamek will be knocked over, and the player wins.
