Mario's Driving Range was one of two Adobe Flash games created for the 2006 McDonald's Take the Mario Challenge promotion, alongside Jammin' With Mario. The promotion lasted from September 1 to September 21, 2006.[2] The website the game was featured on also featured other things, such as videos created by fans and polls.[3] The game is currently lost, as only one image and no archives have been found. The official logo was shown in a screensaver that was downloadable from the website, though.[4]

Gameplay

Mario's Driving Range was a multi-level[5] golf side-scroller hybrid, and the main gameplay element was choosing the direction and strength of the golf shot. Once hit, the ball would interact with other objects in the field, such as Coins and Mushrooms. The ball would bounce off the Mushrooms, allowing it to travel farther, while the Coins could be collected by the ball.[6] The screensaver made for this game that was downloadable from the official website unlocked an additional level, though how many levels were featured is not known.
