DK's Banana Bonus is a minigame appearing in Mario Party 9. Despite it and Diddy's Banana Blast being categorized as boss minigames, they are more comparable to bonus minigames. Additionally, the players play only this boss minigame and Diddy's Banana Blast every time they play on DK's Jungle Ruins, instead of picking between three other boss minigames. The same happens on Bowser Station.
Introduction
Donkey Kong beats his chest and slams the platform he is on as the camera zooms to the angle used in the minigame and the bananas fly in.
Gameplay
The players must collect as many bananas as possible before the time runs out. The bananas fly in from both sides of the screen, and players collect them by launching themselves out of Barrel Cannons. Donkey Kong also tosses in a golden Barrel Cannon, which moves across the top of the screen. If a player can reach this cannon, then they are shot into a higher area with Banana Bunches that reward three bananas and one massive gold Banana Bunch that rewards ten. The game ends after the time limit or after all bananas are collected.
