A Sparkle piece[1] is an object found in various stages in Princess Peach: Showtime! Collecting eight of them in the same section of a stage will reward Peach with a Sparkle Gem. For pieces whose corresponding Sparkle Gems have not been obtained yet, the upper (hill-shaped) end will be a bright cyan blue while the lower (pointed) end will have a gradient into a light green.
They work similar to Red Coins but are found much closer to each other.
A few stages have two sections that each have sets of eight Sparkle pieces, for instance A Snow Flower on Ice. In such cases the pieces do not carry over between sections, so that if Peach obtained for example six pieces in the first set, the counter will start from zero when collecting pieces in the second set.
A total of 136 Sparkle pieces are found in the game.
