If a member of Team Mario is caught by Bowser's claws (denoted as them being on the same "panel" of the wall when Bowser grabs it), they lose three [[heart (item)|heart]]s before being blown a good distance up the wall, giving them a chance to climb out of range before Bowser catches up again. If the hit depletes their remaining hearts, they are blown right off the screen instead. As with all other Bowser minigames in ''Mario Party 10'', Bowser wins by completely depleting Team Mario's hearts; if anyone survives the climb until time expires, the game continues as normal.

Bowser's Clawful Climb is a Bowser minigame appearing in Mario Party 10. While it does not appear at normal times, it appears as a special minigame triggered by angry Bowser or Big Bad Bowser Mode.

Introduction

Bowser chases Team Mario along a stone pathway high in the sky. The members of Team Mario leap onto a large wall with a chain-link surface, climbing out of Bowser's reach as he roars at them. They scream and briefly climb more rapidly as Bowser jumps onto the wall himself, ready to continue the chase.

Gameplay

The players' objective is to climb as fast as possible; Team Mario wants to escape, while Bowser wants to catch up. Both sides must press buttons in order to climb the wall; Team Mario players can press each key once per turn to move, while Bowser's player requires five presses of GamePad's shoulder buttons (ZL Button and ZR Button) for each turn. While this means that Team Mario can move more consistently than Bowser, Bowser covers much more distance per turn.

If a member of Team Mario is caught by Bowser's claws (denoted as them being on the same "panel" of the wall when Bowser grabs it), they lose three hearts before being blown a good distance up the wall, giving them a chance to climb out of range before Bowser catches up again. If the hit depletes their remaining hearts, they are blown right off the screen instead. As with all other Bowser minigames in Mario Party 10, Bowser wins by completely depleting Team Mario's hearts; if anyone survives the climb until time expires, the game continues as normal.
