Direction Switches[1] are objects that appear in Mario vs. Donkey Kong. They are buttons which act very similarly to switches from Donkey Kong for the Game Boy. Two red lights are on either side of a Direction Switch, with one being lit to indicate the direction of conveyor belts and moving platforms. Mario can jump on a Direction Switch to press it, reversing the direction of these objects. Donkey Kong also uses Direction Switches in some of his battles, using them to change the direction of conveyor belts at specific times.
Similar objects known as conveyor switches appear in future games in the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series.
