Jumping High:

Pump 'n' Jump is a Duel minigame found in Mario Party 5. The minigame takes place in a western-themed town common to five of the Duel minigames in this game.

Gameplay

The objective of the minigame is to build up as much pressure as possible in the platform the player's character is standing on, so the character jumps higher than their opponent and wins. The faster the player presses the A Button button, the more pressure they build, and the higher the character will jump. After ten seconds, the characters will jump high in the air, and the player with the higher jump distance wins the game. However, if both players have the same distance, the minigame ends in a draw.

As the characters jump into the sky, a small window appears in the bottom right of the screen, showing the characters high in the air and being filmed by a Lakitu. This same Lakitu also accompanies the players while they are building up the most pressure possible.

The maximum possible score for this minigame is 859 yards/meters. Even if the player keeps pressing A Button after that, it will not increase past that point.

Ending

The losing character falls back to the ground, while the winning character takes out their parachute and yells out for victory. If no one makes it up that high, both players sulk.
