Golden Eggs are rare objects that appear in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. Golden Eggs are not found on the field, as they can only be found in battle by throwing a Taunt Ball at a Bandit in the occasional instances they appear in the background, which causes the Bandit to drop the Golden Egg it is carrying and run away. The Golden Egg bounces in an erratic pattern as it heads past Mario and Luigi, who must hammer it when it bounces right before them to knock it into the enemy's side of the battlefield. Failure to do so will result in the Golden Egg bouncing into the foreground and out of the battle.

When on the battlefield, Golden Eggs don't attack, meaning that they are easy to defeat, but they also have very high defense (the second highest, behind only Gold Beanies). If the egg is not defeated within a few turns, a Bandit will appear and take the egg out of the battle.

Golden Eggs reappear in Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam. Here, they sometimes appear instead of the rocks that Monty Moles throw, and when countered, give the bros some coins.
