List of Star Point amounts in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

This page lists the amount of Star Points given by each enemy and boss in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. When Mario defeats enemies, he is awarded with Star Points depending on his current level compared to the enemies he earns them from; as his level goes up, he earns less Star Points from them. Mario will not earn any Star Points from an enemy if: his level is one level below, matches or exceeds theirs, or when he reaches level 99, the maximum level the player can reach in the game. Mario can still be awarded a single Star Point from a battle with enemies whose levels are all lower than his until he reaches level 99.

Star Points are calculated by taking the enemy's level, subtracting Mario's current level, then multiplying it by the battle multiplier, rounding down, then adding the enemy's Base EXP (additional Star Points) if Mario's level isn't greater than the enemy's. The battle multiplier is determined by the number of enemies present at the start of the battle: 0.5 for one or two enemies, 0.55 for three enemies, 0.65 for four enemies, and 0.75 for five enemies.

Base EXP is the value of additional Star Points given to Mario after calculations have been made. This allows him to earn Star Points from enemies even if his level is just below or matches theirs. Only enemies from the lower levels of the Pit of 100 Trials have a Base EXP value above 0.

Interestingly, Mario will be awarded only a single Star Point from the Shadow Queen and Bonetail regardless of his level.
