Template:Kart-infobox The Sprinter (also known as the B Dasher Mk. 2 in the PAL regions and Japan) is a medium-sized kart that appears in Mario Kart Wii. Its appearance is based on a modern Formula One car and is the successor of the B Dasher from Mario Kart DS. The kart can be unlocked by unlocking 24 expert staff ghosts in Time Trials or by winning 3,000 WFC races. Its bike counterpart is the Sneakster.

Stats

Trivia

  • This kart is a successor of the B Dasher. It doesn't show in the American English name, but it does in the original Japanese version, where it was called B Dash Mk. 2. It directly refers to the original B Dasher and the Mk. 2 shows that this kart is its successor.
    • The assumption that this is an improved version of the B Dasher is supported by the fact that the Sprinter resembles a modern Formula, whereas the B Dasher resembles an older type of Formula used between 1960 and 1980.
    • Both Mario Kart DS and Mario Kart Wii weren't translated to Dutch, but when Mario Kart 7 got a Dutch translation, this kart's American name, the Sprinter, became the Dutch name of the original B Dasher.
    • The Circuit Special is named Sprinter 2.0 in Dutch, further proving the connection between the B Dasher and the Sprinter
  • The name B Dasher, is most likely a reference to the controls of the side-scrolling NES and Game Boy games - the player presses and holds the B button to dash.
  • The Sprinter, if used by Diddy Kong, Bowser Jr., or a Male Mii, they don't have a white body, as Diddy's seems to be orange, Bowser Jr. has green, and the male Miis have black. The Female Miis' is white, but in a creamy tone.
  • The Sprinter is the only medium-sized vehicle having speed surpassing that of the Flame Flyer, unless Rosalina or Funky Kong use the Flame Flyer based on their speed bonuses.
  • The Sprinter is the only vehicle in Mario Kart Wii with a speed stat higher than 60 that is used as a normal Time Trial staff ghost. It is used by Luigi on the Luigi Circuit course.
