Shroob Mushrooms are purple Mushrooms that appear during the events of Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. The evil extraterrestrials known as Shroobs were capable of firing purple energy bolts that could turn anyone into a Shroob Mushroom. Toadiko, Toadbert, Kylie Koopa and Baby Bowser, as well as many others, all suffer this horrible fate, but they are all revived when Professor E. Gadd spread a chemical that has the same make-up as baby tears across the Mushroom Kingdom. Some Shroobs are also known to turn into these purple mushrooms, like Elder Princess Shroob.
Trivia
- Shroob Mushrooms can talk in the most extreme cases, such as when Elder Princess Shroob died at the end of Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.
- The chemical composition of baby tears are the only known thing that can turn a being that has been transformed into a Shroob Mushroom back to their original state.
- In the game they were sometimes referred to as Poison Mushrooms.
