Diagonal cannons[1] are double-barreled cannons that fire cannonballs out of either end and are mounted on background elements such as semisolid metal bays. They are not to be confused with grounded regular cannons, which can also be found facing diagonally.
In Super Mario Bros. 3, these cannons appear in the World 2-Airship, World 3-Airship, and World 5-Airship levels. In Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3's World-e, they also appear in Bowser's Airship 1 and Bowser's Airship 2.
