Fire Birds are enemies found in Fire Mountain and Fire Mountain Plus of Mario vs. Donkey Kong. They spawn from Fire Bird Nests and perform four complete flights across a level, much like Birds do, before disappearing. Another Fire Bird spawns from the same nest shortly afterwards.
As soon as they appear from a nest, Fire Birds will drop an egg covered in flames. They will occasionally try to drop more flaming eggs onto Mario when they spot him underneath. Mario cannot deflect a Fire Bird's eggs with a handstand like he could do with a Bird's eggs, getting burnt if he does so. Mario will also lose a life if he touches a Fire Bird or a nest. It is impossible to defeat a Fire Bird.
