- “Are you ready for my magic? Hocus pocus!”
- —Big Mr. I, Mario Party 2
Big Mr. I (originally parsed Big Mr. I.[1]) is a large Mr. I that first appeared as a boss in Super Mario 64 and has since made subsequent appearances in the Mario Party series.
History
Super Mario 64 / Super Mario 64 DS
Big Mr. I first appeared in Super Mario 64, where he could be found in Big Boo's Haunt. However, to reach Big Mr. I, Mario has to go up to the attic, which leads to the balcony. Then Mario must go to the balcony on the second floor, grab the invisible cap and run into the Boo painting in the attic. He will then be in a room with Big Mr. I and his Boo ally, and he must get his attention. Once he does Mario must run around Big Mr. I once in either clockwise or counterclockwise, causing Big Mr. I to get dizzy and spin around uncontrollably until he disappears and turns into a Power Star. He appeared again in its Nintendo DS remake, Super Mario 64 DS with the same role and abilities. Big Mr. I, along with Big Bully, Big Boo and Chill Bully, does not speak to Mario or have the boss theme play during their fight.
Mario Party series
Mario Party 3
In Mario Party 3, Big Mr. I is featured in the Battle minigame Eye Sore. The objective of the minigame is to run around Big Mr. I fifteen times until he finally disappears. As the characters run around Big Mr. I, he will gradually shrink. Players should avoid bumping into Big Mr. I or one of the many Podoboos that pop up, for they will stun the player for a few valuable seconds.
Mario Party 8
In Mario Party 8, Big Mr. I appears as the third Mr. I in the Duel minigame Eyebrawl along with what appears to be a double or a duplicate. The objective is to use the Wii Remote to rotate the pointer onscreen around him until he becomes dizzy enough and disappears.
Description
Abilities
Big Mr. I has the same powers as the rest of his species, such as shooting bubbles/balls of light, invisibility and levitation. In Mario Party 2 he is capable of rolling into players, something no other Mr. I has displayed. In Mario Party 8 it is shown that he can summon numerous Mr. Is to scare the losing player.
