A Party Ball is an item container featured in Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U. When thrown or attacked, they rise up and release items after a few seconds. Like the Crate, the Party Ball is a heavy item. Only very strong fighters, such as Donkey Kong or Bowser, can walk with relative ease while carrying a Party Ball.
Party Balls have a 42% chance of releasing a random number of assorted items, a 36% chance of revealing exclusively Food items, and a 12% chance of dropping several Bob-ombs onto the battlefield (the aptly named "Bob-omb Fest"); the other 10% of the time, the Party Ball self-destructs. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the Party Ball also has a chance of not releasing any items.

Party Ball | A celebratory ball, filled with irresistible treasures just begging to be released. Once thrown, it floats into the air and releases its prizes. It could be a variety of awesome items, but you should be careful–sometimes the Party Ball is stuffed full of Bob-ombs! How rude! |
