This very strange creature has a variety of attacks, the first being the cold blast, which freezes Wario, leaving him vulnerable. In his second attack, Winter Windster ducks into one of the lava craters in the arena and sends out pulsing waves of energy. There are also energy missiles (the purple ones home in, the blue ones don't) and finally, his Evil Eye. If Wario looks into the Winter Windster's eyes when they're glowing, the Winter Windster will phase out into bursts of wind which fill Wario up, making him float over the spikes outside the arena. Quickly shake the Control Stick to regain control. Wario must turn his back to the Winter Windster to avoid the attack entirely.

Fortunately, all attacks except the energy missiles and the Evil Eye leave him vulnerable. Once he attacks you and flies in, quickly punch him, swing him around, and toss him. “The Winter Windster in front of the Goal will try to attack from midair. Ooh! Chilling! Listen, I bet if you stick something in one of those magma holes, magma might shoot out! Oh, one more thing... Don't look at its eyes when they turn red!”
Spriteling, Wario World

The Winter Windster is fought in Shivering Mountains in Wario World. It is the first boss of Thrillsville, and it is succeeded by Spideraticus and Red-Brief J. The Winter Windster is an extremely large humanoid with a disproportionately large head. It is mostly blue in color, though its nose is dark red-violet. Its hair is similar to a vine-like plant.

Battle[edit]

The Winter Windster's arena is a large irregularly-shaped block of ice with four small magma pools on it. The arena is surrounded by sharp ice spikes.

It uses a variety of attacks in his battle. It can attack by breathing a stream of cold air, which will freeze Wario, leaving him vulnerable to be headbutted by the Winter Windster. The Winter Windster can also duck into one of the lava craters in the arena and send out pulsing shockwaves of energy which will hurt Wario upon contact. It also shoots blue energy missiles. The Winter Windster's final attack is the "Evil Eye" attack, which will cause it to phase out into bursts of energy if Wario looks into his eyes when they start glowing red. The energy causes Wario to be inflated, which causes him to float over the spikes outside the arena. The player can allow Wario to regain control before he lands on the ice spikes by shaking the Control Stick quickly. Turning backwards without looking at the Winter Windster's eye enables Wario to dodge the attack.

The Winter Windster drops explosive boulders from its cloud throughout the entire battle; these can squash Wario if they land on him. However, Wario can also toss a boulder into one of the lava craters, causing an explosion of lava to be sent out. The lava can be used to knock the boss from the sky if it is over that crater. Once the Winter Windster is close enough, Wario can quickly punch it to daze it, and then use a Mad Move on it. The Winter Windster is defeated after hitting it with five Mad Moves. After the battle, Wario is able to access Beanstalk Way.
