Super Mario Bros. is one of the microgames in 9-Volt's Nintendo Classics level in WarioWare: Get It Together! It is based on the game of the same name.
Gameplay[edit]
The microgame takes place at the end of World 8-4, where the player has to defeat Bowser by either using indirect attacks on him until he falls or touching the axe (directly or indirectly) on the other side to drop him into the lava. If the player uses indirect attacks to defeat Bowser, he will be seen in his tumbling animation similar to how Mario defeats him with a Fire Flower. Bowser constantly jumps and attacks the player. The area is a replica of the one from the original level, except the bridge has a small hump near the middle to prevent 9-Volt from skating into Bowser.
- Level 1: Bowser attacks by breathing fire.
- Level 2: Bowser throws hammers at the player.
- Level 3: Bowser attacks by both breathing fire and throwing hammers at the player, and a Lava Bubble periodically leaps out of the lava.
If two players are utilized for this microgame, the player that defeats Bowser either by attacking him or reaching the axe receives an effort point. Even if one player is defeated, the other player can still win.
Mission[edit]
- Firefighter Penny (one player only): As Penny, the player must complete the microgame after extinguishing at least three of the fireballs with her Jet Tank One.
Suitability[edit]
Good Fit | ||
---|---|---|
Bad Fit |
- 5-Volt can teleport to the axe, skipping hazards along the way.
- Orbulon can use his beam to suck up hazards as well as Bowser.
- 18-Volt, Ashley, and Penny are above-average fits as they can shoot at Bowser with their projectiles.
- Mona is an above-average fit as she can use her boomerang to touch the axe or defeat Bowser with it, both will clear the microgame.
- Wario is an average fit because he cannot attack Bowser and he can only fly to the axe.
- Dribble can attack to the right, but him and Spitz are average fits because Spitz can only attack left. Despite this, they can also fly to the axe.
- Red can fly on top of Bowser and drop bombs on him to defeat him or fly to the axe.
- Master Mantis can walk upside-down to the end and then drop down to the axe.
- Pyoro can defeat Bowser or use the axe with his tongue.
- Young Cricket is a below-average fit because his fast jumping may cause him to touch Bowser. To win is to wait until Bowser jumps and then go past him and touch the axe.
- Dr. Crygor and Jimmy T are below-average fits because their movements may cause them to get to Bowser unless the player times their movements.
- Mike is a below-average fit as he can only attack upwards, making it difficult to defeat Bowser with his note projectiles fast enough while he is jumping. The easier way would be to fly to the axe.
- Lulu is a below-average fit as her slow walking makes it require timing to go underneath Bowser. It is easier to have her to go on top of Bowser and reach the axe.
- 9-Volt is a poor fit as he has to time when Bowser jumps before grappling the ring that takes him to the axe to avoid colliding into him on the way.
- Due to their constant jumping, Kat & Ana are unsuitable as they may inadvertently jump into Bowser's fireballs. Their shuriken projectiles can also miss Bowser. This, however, can easily be achieved by holding to the right as soon as the game starts.
