Ground Pound Down is a 4-Player minigame in Mario Party 5.
Overview[edit]

Players choose from three columns of blocks to ground-pound at the start of each area while making their way to the water at the bottom first.[1] In Mini-Game Decathlon, where it is the first minigame, the player tries to complete the minigame as quickly as they can, earning up to 1,000 points in the process.[2] Regular blocks require one Ground Pound to destroy, more can be broken at once at the peak of the player's jump; this does not work on rock blocks, which always require three hits to destroy. As players go deeper, the rocks darken gradually, though this does not affect gameplay, and the last few are always rock blocks. The first player to make it to the end wins, but if they do not accomplish this on time, it is a draw.
In the ending, the winning player is launched out of a pipe by a jet of water, waving atop it. In the event of a draw, every player does their loss animation.
