The player can also speed up by tilting the Wii U GamePad or Wii Remote Plus forward. The course features groove zones, where characters leave a trail after passing through. If the player follows another character's trail through the groove zone, they will receive a speed boost, and will receive a further speed boost if they have collected some of the Coins scattered throughout the course. The course also features jumps, which he player can swing the Wii U GamePad or Wii Remote upwards to jump from, and tilt it backwards and forwards to keep balance in the air. Landing at an angle similar to that of the slope will grant the player a speed boost. Grind rails also appear, which the player can ride on for a speed boost, and keeps their balance by tilting the Wii U GamePad or Wii remote Plus left and right. The course also features several other items. Dash panels appear on some ramps on the course, as well as the sides of the bridge and the Wiggler Wagons that drive along it, and will grant the player a speed boost when passed over. The Cannon shoots players to the top of the course, while the Warp Pipes transport players to a new section. Snowmen appear on the course and slow players down when they are hit and are destroyed upon impact. The character that completes two laps of the course in the fastest time wins.
