The ghost boss grabbing Captain Syrup | |
First appearance | Wario Land II (1998) |
The ghost is the final boss that appears in Wario Land II in the final story (or the 5th stage) of the chapter Uncanny Mansion. If Wario enters the ghost's room, it appears that the ghost snatched Captain Syrup and locked her in a secret room. When the ghost returns, it looks around, and the battle begins. It takes four hits to defeat this boss.
Battle[edit]
The ghost's method of attack is that it recedes off screen to the top and then drops itself from above as if tethered to the ceiling by a bungee cord. Its attack is trying to grab Wario when he comes down. Wario must hit it with a Dash Attack to do damage, which requires Wario to dodge an attack and then follow it up with his own attack. In total, four hits must be made. In the first hit, the ghost will only drop straight down, however, in every subsequent hit, it will only drop down if Wario is standing perfectly still, otherwise it will swoop down in a swinging motion to try and snag Wario. During the first three hits, there is a visible lag between its attacks which gives Wario time to get ready to dodge; however, on the fourth hit, the lag is removed and it will endlessly drop to try and grab Wario. At this point, once one more blow is dealt, it falls from the ceiling. If the ghost snatches Wario, it will place him in a room above the battlefield. Wario must then make his way back to the room to continue battling the ghost.
