''VB Mario Land'' would make use of all the Virtual Boy's capabilities, with Mario being able to enter the background of various levels; additionally, dungeons similar to the ones seen in ''The Legend of Zelda'' series of games were also prevalent in ''VB Mario Land''.

Also in ''VB Mario Land'', a three-dimensional version of ''[[Mario Bros. (game)|Mario Bros.]]'' was mentioned as being implemented in ''VB Mario Land'', though aside from it's presence in the game, no more details about this ''Mario Bros.'' minigame were mentioned.

It is possible that several elements of ''VB Mario Land'' were implemented in ''[[Mario Clash]]'', most noticeably it's ''Mario Bros.'' elements.

Virtual Boy:

VB Mario Land,[1] also known as Mario Adventure,[2] is a canceled game of the Super Mario franchise that was originally going to be released for the Virtual Boy. A single-level playable demo was unveiled at the Winter Consumer Electronics Show 1995 in Las Vegas.[3]

The game was to be a two-dimensional side-scrolling game that would also use three-dimensional perspectives, such as moving between the background and foreground of the level. It would star Mario as the main character, using classic Super Mario Bros.-style elements such as pipes, Koopa Troopas, Goombas, Jumping Piranha Plants, and ? Blocks. Although VB Mario Land's story was not revealed, a large Wario-like figure that functioned similarly to a Thwomp was seen in the playable demo. In certain areas, an overhead view was displayed, much like in the game series The Legend of Zelda. The first level ends at the flagpole, and Mario can be seen entering a castle.

A three-dimensional version of Mario Bros. was mentioned to be implemented into VB Mario Land as a minigame, though this was later released as a separate game titled Mario Clash.[1]
