Mario with the self-conscious status effect
“Mario's feeling self-conscious... He can only use pre-painted cards.”
Battle text, Paper Mario: Color Splash

Self-conscious is a status effect in Paper Mario: Color Splash, inflicted only by orange paint in the battle with Roy. While Mario is in this state, he is covered in orange paint and stands still with an embarrassed look on his face with his hands down in front of him, yet he seems to float, as his feet do not touch the ground. When Mario is afflicted by this status effect, he can only use fully painted cards. Like all other status effects exclusive to Roy's battle, the effect is temporary and only lasts one turn.
