| Just to clarify policy ([[MarioWiki:Proposals/Archive 46#Prohibit Converting Between GIF, JPEG, and PNG Formats|because I proposed it and it passed]]), the conversion {{user|Super Radio}} did shouldn't have happened in the first place. It was so much effort with little payoff. The policy applies to both JPEGs that weren't uploaded to {{SITENAME}} yet as well as already uploaded JPEGs being converted to PNG. It was meant to defend against uploads like [[:File:Thwomp Wario's Woods.png]], originally done by {{user|Xaq}}, but eventually redone by me. Another protection is fan transparency on JPEGs of artwork, because JPEGs are incapable of transparency. Editors should just wait to see if a lossless alternative turns up. This shouldn't be confused with recaptures, which I do and doesn't violate the policy in any way. A lot of confusion stems from what the difference is between conversion and replacing and how JPEG and PNG formats work. If that needs to be clarified, just ask me about it. For the moment, I'm digging through the main proposal's history page and collecting dates (something I should have done before, I'm aware), but when everything is set for editing the archives, how should it be done? | :Pretty good way to word it but I would make these slight tweaks: <code>JPG artwork with <u>solid color, patterned, or scenery</u> backgrounds should also not be converted for the sake of <u>replacing them with</u> transparent backgrounds, as this can lead to leftover <u>off-color edge</u> pixels as a result of bad transparency, which are easily visible when viewed on a <u>different color</u> background. Such images should just be uploaded as they are without any modifications to the backgrounds whatsoever.</code> If you think the wording can be even better than what I suggest, make the changes. The reason I suggest this is because sometimes artwork may have [[:File:QueenBee.png|a non-white color background]]. I hope to not go into too much detail as {{user|Shokora}} has a [[User:Shokora/MarioWiki:Image Use Policy|WIP about a complete overhaul of the image use policy]]. | Thank you for fixing what I wrote, I just read and put what Koizumi said in the Famitsu article, the team wrote the song, and then Nintendo of America translated to English for everyone to understand it (it's the most spoken language without counting Chinese or Spanish), he uses the word "heart", like if it was in Japanese it would be difficult for the rest of the world to connect with the song. Oh and the Upbeat part it's just a simplification of what Koizumi also said about the music. He mentions other things I can also tell. | :We're on the same channel, I used Google to help me translate the text I couldn't fully understand, but really, they talk a lot of things, including that in Super Mario Sunshine originally there was going to be real humans, but the designs of those humans end up being too cartoony to actually call them humans, so they went with the cartoon style we all know.
