I noticed you've rolled back some of this anon's edits. I just fixed an attempt to swap DK and Bowser's roles on the Mario Party 7 page, looks like most of their edits have been of a "mess with the article" nature. -- Lord G. matters. 17:01, July 17, 2019 (EDT)

- The focus of the image is the enemy itself; the Japanese name is an unnecessary detail, having two images simply with that difference even more so. As I said, you can find them in the full image linked on the file page, as well as under "Names in other languages". Mario JC 08:25, July 20, 2019 (EDT)
- Thing is, though, having the name associated with the picture in plain sight is much better due to the image being used on such a contentious discussion, which is precisely why I uploaded it separately in the first place. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 15:57, July 20, 2019 (EDT)

Springboard vs. Trampoline
Hi, is it okay with you if I move Springboard to Trampoline? I'm just asking because the name "Springboard" only seems to come from three different sources, all guides, whereas the "Trampoline" name has been more frequently used in-game and is in fact the most recent name. - Not attempting to speak for the admin, but from all appearances it appears to be a defunct userpage that hasn't been changed in years. If I recall correctly, those usually end up left alone on the basis that the user may possibly return at a later date. If I'm wrong, kindly correct me on that. 2 questions
So I have been adding pictures to the list of Pi'illos, but I decided that some of them need to be redone. So I uploaded new versions, but they aren't showing to me. Any idea why? The second question is related to the first could you maybe delete some of them so the final files that I will add later doesn't look so messy? Files to delete would be: M&LDT Pi'illo Castle Pi'illo 3, M&LDT Mushrise Park Pi'illo 1, M&LDT Dozing Sands Pi'illo 2, M&LDT Wakeport Pi'illo 1, M&LDT Mount Pajamaja Pi'illo 1, M&LDT Mount Pajamaja Pi'illo 2, M&LDT Mount Pajamaja Pi'illo 3 (I also made a duplicate file named M&LDT Mount Pajamaja Pi'illo 3 NEW, so that can be deleted too). I would then add better pictures myself. That's all. I just want that page to by as clean as possible. Thanks in advance. Mid188 (talk) 20:13, August 6, 2019 (EDT)

Help with broken DS Lite shoulder button
Hello,
I noticed on your userpage that your DS Lite's L button no longer responds. I have a similar problem (though this is overshadowed by my even less functional d-pad) but the L button does respond sometimes. I have never tried fixing it (and intend to buy a New 3DS sometime) but I have heard that many people are helped by blowing into it (something about oxidation or sth.) If that doesn't work you can always try the procedure at https://gbatemp.net/threads/kipmudzs-solution-to-malfunctioning-dslites-shoulder-buttons.335590/. I see that you also own a GBASP, a 3DS and a New 3DS so I don't suppose this is necessary but I hope that it helps you anyway MiracleDinner (talk) 05:50, August 14, 2019 (EDT)

Block
If some readers don't want to count obscure games, then I'll just have to ask Steve if he can reprogram this wiki to block those people from accessing the wiki. Because this is now a dedicated website that human beings helped grow, archiving obscure and popular content and facts alike and I'm not going to have people overlook obscure content just because they're unfamiliar with it. I joined this site for 2 reasons: to archive and popularize obscure and missing content. And I'm gonna do everything it takes to make sure nothing can ever become obscure again, even if it means asking Steve to protect the Mario franchise from overlookers. Please don't block me again. It's not fun. I just wanted my voice to be heard. Lord Falafel (talk) 22:25, August 22, 2019 (EDT)
- Now, I don't really know if it is my place to say this, but I highly doubt that Steve is going to do anything regarding blocks like that. That's not how we do it here. If you want to create an obscurity list, that is okay, but it should probably kept in a section(s) dedicated to the obscure and unusual. If that does not exist, you could formulate a proposal to allow the creation of one. No one is actively trying to hide these materials from being known about, we're just trying to keep it in a very concise, but broad manner. Trig - 22:35, August 22, 2019 (EDT)
- ...why would you block people for not sharing a particular interest anyway? Thought police much? -- Lord G. matters. 00:06, August 23, 2019 (EDT)
- If we did that, it would open up a whole can of worms regarding blocks and particular interests. Would I be blocked because I regard Action 52 as good? Would everyone who hates Super Mario Galaxy be blocked? I fear that with that system, only one person would be left at the end. Interests can be different, and that's good. I personally think that blocking users just because they don't happen to share a particular interest with you is very discourteous. I am not alone on this sentiment, as the messages above have proven. TheDarkStar 14:23, August 23, 2019 (EDT)
Super Mario Maker 2 SMB1 Sky Theme Does NOT Originate from Super Smash Bros. Brawl –– PROOF
So, this is in regards to the Super Mario Maker 2 page where it's stated that the bridge section of the SMB1 Sky theme comes from the Brawl arrangement.
Here's Koji Kondo playing this himself, this performance dates back to 2007. It's crappy quality, but I'm including this version here so that you know 100% that I'm not lying that this is indeed from 2007.
Another perspective, better quality, includes the variation of that bridge section at 1:18.
Now, these are just rehearsal videos, he actually performed it at Video Games Live in 2007, and this is that performance. Again, just to hammer this home, 6:24 is that same modified bridge section which was later used in Brawl which came out in 2008.
Now, you can say "Well, this was 2007, Brawl came out less than a year later. He probably already made the arrangement and just incorporated some of that into his piano performance!"
Well, this modified bridge section predates even THAT concert. It actually comes from the recording of the Mario medley, based on the themes from the first Super Mario Bros. game with the London Symphony Orchestra playing it.
Here's the full recording by the London Symphony Orchestra, the bridge section in question is at 0:38
I don't know exactly what year this recording came out, but it was used in this Newgruonds flash which came out in 2001, so it predates Brawl by at least 7 years!
https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/25555
My original edit simply stated that while the SMB1 Sky theme "came from Brawl," it actually predates Brawl quite a bit. Now that I've provided you with more than enough proof on this, I'm going to go back and reinstate my original edit as I find it entirely appropriate, and would appreciate if you don't remove it this time.
Thanks, Mario54671
Yet two more things
- What's your opinion on how "Literal translation" should be used? More specifically, what do you have to say to the points I made in this edit summary?
- I know this is way too late, but was it really a good idea to rename this user? On another Wiki (one where I'm a user, no less), the fact that he uses this same username, combined with the fact that he has acted like he owns that Wiki, makes the Wiki in question look like a joke.

I replaced your screenshot here with a game rip. I know that this is the right sprite because of the file I got it from, and the other sprites in the same file. I do think we should replace these images with sprites instead of YouTube screenshots. Scrooge200 (talk) 12:31, September 9, 2019 (EDT)
- Then why did you say you got it from YouTube? And if you did get it as a direct capture from the Switch, shouldn't these images be .jpgs? We can resize the images, like we already do right now. When we have all of them as sprites, it'll look better. And all of them do have transparency space in the files, so I could just leave them uncropped. Scrooge200 (talk) 22:03, September 9, 2019 (EDT)
- But the point of these sprites is that they do fit in a box. The Wiggler is just the head, the Banzai Bill and Skewer are cropped, etc. It'd not be changing the image itself, it'd be getting a higher quality version. Scrooge200 (talk) 22:34, September 9, 2019 (EDT)

Permision to add 2 pages + A question
So I recently completed the item lists for Dream Team and Paper Jam and I was wondering, can I do the same for the remake of the Superstar Saga, since lot of it is same from the original game? Well some of it is different like the number of beans in the Teehee Valley, Beanbean Fields+Airport and Chateau le Chucklehuck+Chuklehuck Woods.
I also will do the beanholes from the remake for Bowser's Inside Story since there's no reason NOT to do it since the number and the types of beans are different (to resemble later titles).
Another thing is related to this: Is it possible that the List of Beanholes for Superstar Saga is not accurate? Like I don't remember seeing that the remake removed some beans, only made the invisible ones visible, so the numbers should be same, but in the areas mentioned above it's not the case. It will take time but I will find out myself. But if I'm proven right I would add to the old list. But if not, that means some beans were added in the remake, so that's another reason to do that list for the remake.
The reason I'm asking is that like I would do the list but then it would be deleted because it would seem unnecessary.
Well, that's all from me for now.
Note: I'm sorry for the mess in the history tab, my PC bugged out in that moment.--Mid188 (talk) 15:46, September 15, 2019 (EDT)
Edit: So I have found 1 in Teehee Valley and added a picture. But also found the place in Beanbean Fields where it's supposed to be, but isn't. And in Chucklehuck Woods, in the remake, the 5 required to dig out aren't counted in the Records option in the menu, so the number is fine without them. So, the remake added 1 new beanhole and made the others visible and some visible one have been moved. So in my opinion, I think the list of beanholes for the remake is a good idea. And while I would do that, I would also do the hidden blocks. Just to have everything. Now, I'm done. Sorry for the long message (if it's bothering you).--Mid188 (talk) 18:18, September 15, 2019 (EDT)

Of course it is good to impose the rules to organize any biography and I respect very much, now allow for profanity? Everything has a limit.

ChristopherPAraujo (talk) 13:20, September 21, 2019 (EDT)
So I had an idea...
I'm too tired to make a full proposal about this right now, but you know how we sometimes get artwork from unclear and/or dubious sources (and in some cases, have had them since nearly the beginning) and aren't really sure if it's actual official art or just fan-made? I thought perhaps instead of doing the potentially harmful keeping or immediately deleting, we make some sort of "probationary gallery" to store them in until it's proven either way, so as to not forget about proving or disproving them. Seem like a good idea? Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 00:31, September 27, 2019 (EDT)
- I mean like how as far as I can tell, no one's really sure where this or this image actually came from, leading to what amounts to guesswork. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 10:08, September 27, 2019 (EDT)
- Pretty sure LTL or I put that there as a hypothesis, but he admitted it might be fanart that snuck in in the early days. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:57, September 27, 2019 (EDT)
- The Birdo art doesn't seem remotely SMA-like imo, beyond that I dunno. -- Lord G. matters. 23:58, September 27, 2019 (EDT)
- The amount of SMUSA art that was misattributed to SMA is also a factor to this. With the Birdo thing, the history concerns me. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 00:02, September 28, 2019 (EDT)
Video titles
I have a proposition. What if I posted video titles and uploader names on pages and then someone would find the videos and would copy/paste the link where I put the title? And we could also do the same for links to websites and Twitter posts and other posts. We can help each other out. What do you think? Lord Falafel (talk) 12:12, September 28, 2019 (EDT)
