Does Mario Kart: Double Dash!! actually have emblems?
I've ripped the textures for each and every kart present in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! so I could add their emblems to the page. Thing is, what exactly are the emblems in this game? Some karts such as the Red Fire have obvious emblem placement, while others like the Piranha Pipe don't at all. Not only that, but you also have the plates in which the second driver stands which have some sort of insignia akin to emblems in them, which often doesn't actually match the emblems for the characters in following games.

:::::Thanks for uploading these for the Double Dash emblems. I was just wondering if it would be possible to also upload the blue M and green L from the Baby Mario Bros' kart, and the front mustache decal and back platform from the Wario Car? I greatly appreciate the work that you've done to get these textures and emblems uploaded to the Wiki! MarioComix (talk) 23:36, September 10, 2020 (EDT)
::::::I had already uploaded the blue M and green L before, I just didn't include them on the gallery because I could already mention instead that Baby Mario and Baby Luigi reuse Mario and Luigi's emblems respectively, and the color alteration doesn't mean much other than simply having to fit the karts' color schemes.
::::::As for the Wario Car stuff, I don't really think they count as emblems moreso than just the pre-existing design of the Wario Car from WL4: in the case of the front mustache decal, that was already there in WL4, while the back platform doesn't really match the rest of the karts' platforms, it really looks more like a natural extension of the car itself to me, so I'm dubious about it counting as an emblem. I've also uploaded the Parade Kart's platform insignia just in case you also considered that to be an emblem, though maybe we shouldn't include it as every other emblem listing in the article is limited to characters and/or teams of characters. --<span style="color:#0000FF">Superstarxalien169</span> 15:42, September 11, 2020 (EDT)
::::::Oh yeah, I should also note that, at least for the kart emblem section, I'm going for "emblems" that subsequently became actual emblems in Mario Kart Tour; you'll notice that the emblems listed for Koopa, Paratroopa, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and Bowser's karts all became actual emblems in Tour, and I'm expecting the same to go with Mario, Luigi, both Baby Mario and Baby Luigi's flower and letter emblems, and Waluigi. While Peach and Daisy's emblem locations probably won't be reused for actual emblems in Tour, they're really the only emblem design they have there, and it matches with the back platform, so I'm counting that as well. --<span style="color:#0000FF">Superstarxalien169</span> 15:51, September 11, 2020 (EDT)
:::::::The mustache decal is understandable, I just thought that since it resembles Wario's mustache (which itself is used as his emblem in Mario Tennis Open) that we might add it to the list. I'll still add in the back platform emblems (save the Parade Kart) and the Baby Mario Bros' version of M and L since those platform emblems are the first real instance of proper symbols for each racer (but even this wasn't consistent, due to the shell karts and Barrel Train), whereas the Baby Mario Bros never actually use the red and green M&L in this game. We might want to retroactively apply the current rules (that the Baby Mario Bros generally share their emblem with the adult bros), but this kind of "historical development" should still be noted. After all, Baby Mario never again used his lowercase "m" emblem from Mario Tennis, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't include it here. Again, many thanks for your work in uploading these! This is a good idea. I can't get an idea on what counts as an emblem that is valid enough to be displayed on the list, though. Currently, the list is missing emblems for Koopa Kid, Metal Mario and Pink Gold Peach, the Sonic characters that appear in the Mario & Sonic series, the Namco Bandai characters that appear in the Mario Kart Arcade GP series, and the humans that are playable in the N64 version of Mario Tennis. Do we add all of those? We have Fly Guy, Gooper Blooper, Link, and even Fawful in there, after all.
For characters already on the list, shouldn't "emblems" from Mario Kart: Double Dash!! also be counted? It has some unique icons for characters like Peach and Bowser Jr.. -- 20:05, September 30, 2021 (EDT)

It should be probably be organized chronologically (order of character or emblem appearance), or by priority (perhaps which emblems appear in main series games or spin-offs), or alphabetically. Now that we've done much digging to scope out all the appearances of emblems in the series (with more yet to come), the gallery has ballooned in size, and loading the entire page is quite taxing due to the multitude of images to load. I think the gallery can be split off from the main page now, that way we can have the most modern/frequently-used emblem on the main page and then the gallery can contain all the historical emblems categorized by game. == Is Diddy Kong’s Super Nintendo World Emblem really orange?==
With all due respect there could be a case of red-green colorblind people mistaking the letters for orange, especially since red- green colorblindness is the most common form of colorblindness. I know that I don’t have color blindness (having done some online tests myself along with the fact that no doctor has diagnosed me with it) and I can clearly see it’s meant to be red, and it makes sense since red is one of Diddy Kong’s main colors. (I can also tell it’s a lighter shade of red, although it could be the color red orange as well) I feel there needs to be a discussion with many people here on what the color actually is, so that we can find out for sure on who is right. Especially since I was the one who added the section in the first place

That being said, people's color perception does change due to surrounding color (see color illusion) as well as computer monitor calibration, so the surrounding yellow can alter how the orange is perceived, so I'm going to show Diddy's color next to yellow sampled from his logo (#F1DF19) just for an idea. An infobox?[edit]

Do we need an infobox for this? If so, what picture will it have?

We don't need an infobox, but we can put an emblem up there... let me see what we can use. I know I'm a bit inclined to use Mario, but I'm going for another thing. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 22:03, 30 March 2014 (EDT)

I'd be in favor if we did this. The page is already pretty taxing on my computer due to the sheer number of images to load. BMfan08 (talk) 14:13, November 2, 2024 (EDT)
Done. Probably should've happened a while ago anyway. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits) 15:10, November 22, 2024 (EST)

Kiddy Kong[edit]

In The Super Mario Bros. Movie Kiddy Kong appears in (possibly) his kart. In the kart there's blue "circle" with a white circle and white things around the white circle. I think that might be an emblem. See:

Looking at it again, it kind of just looks like a part of the kart to me. It's hard to say due to how small it is. MarioComix (talk) 03:06, November 4, 2024 (EST)

Mario Wonder[edit]

In Superb Mairo Siblings Phenomenon, after you finish a level and finish it again, there's a different emblem ( and this is an emblem for SURE ) appears in the goal pole. I think this might be the wonder emblem or the poplin emblem, but I dunno.

See the emblem? Weegie baby (talk) 12:15, November 4, 2024 (EST)

Since this page is focused on character emblems, since it's unclear if it's meant for a character or as a general symbol (such as to represent the Flower Kingdom as a whole), we'll just leave it for now. But if this emblem returns and is associated with a character, such as Poplin or Prince Florian, then we can retroactively note its appearance in Wonder. Yeah, but it was requested for all the emblems for the cast presentation for the Mario Movie (including the Question Block) to be added, soooooo... Weegie baby (talk) 07:48, November 7, 2024 (EST)
It's only a request. The scope of the page (based on the opening text) is for character emblems, otherwise we'd have to include all the emblems for Mii gear in Mario Tennis Open and Mario Golf: World Tour, for example. And nobody's even uploaded all the Mario movie emblems yet anyhow. I don't believe it's conducive to include all those emblems on this page anyway, because, well, the ? Block's emblem is just a ? Block itself, as an example. The gallery would be even more bloated. MarioComix (talk) 00:57, November 9, 2024 (EST)

Is Diddy Kong’s Super Nintendo World Emblem really orange?[edit]

Especially since I was the one who added the section in the first place Wario876 (talk) 5:32, November 25, 2024

Sampling a color indicates it's a red-orange. From one pixel (variable because the image I sampled from File:SNW Diddy Kong Power-Up Band Emblem.png, doesn't have ideal quality and has compression artifacts), it's #EC543C; I show #E40011, red sampled from File:MKT 161CB.png; and #EE7800, orange (from Daisy's emblem, File:MKT 159CB.png). (__________________). And this is Diddy's color next to Daisy's color: ____________, and I'll show the these three so people can determine which is closer: __________________ Orange seems closer to me, though it looks light red in this context. That being said, people's color perception does change due to surrounding color (see color illusion) as well as computer monitor calibration, so the surrounding yellow can alter how the orange is perceived, so I'm going to show Diddy's color next to yellow sampled from his logo (#F1DF19) just for an idea.
