User talk:Pallukun
Hello, Pallukun. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly use the {{aboutfile}} template. What you were doing looks like this, and it is an inconvenience for other users to fix up the template. It is simple to learn how to format it correctly. The pre-loaded syntax is shown below. {{aboutfile |1=Subject of the image |2=Where you found the image |3=Artist |4=Describe edits, if any |5=Other versions (use file link) }} Just replace the necessary parts with that corresponding information, and remove the entire line for the parameter(s) you don't use. Please consider the above information before uploading more files. If you continue using {{aboutfile}} incorrectly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Hello, Pallukun. Good job on your recent uploads, but when uploading files, keep in mind that you must correctly categorize the file. It's simple to learn how to do so. Just search for the correct category by starting with the following groups:
When uploading, copy the full title of the category and insert it in square brackets into the summary text box below the {{aboutfile}} template, replacing the {{uncategorized}} template entirely. If you're using the upload function from the text editor, simply add the category link to the description. For example, files related to the game Super Mario World would use: [[Category:Super Mario World images]]or [[Category:Super Mario World media files]] Please consider the above information before uploading more files. Keep in mind that some files can belong to multiple categories. Do not put images into the media files category, or vice versa. If you continue uploading files without categorizing them correctly, then a warning will be issued. Thank you for reading, and keep contributing. |
Hello, regarding your recent upload you incorrectly added the {{aboutfile}} template while forgetting to properly categorize the image. How to correctly categorize an image and how to add an aboutfile template is listed above this comment. Thanks! Doomhiker (talk) 18:31 5 February 2019 (EST)
This is a warning to stop your inappropriate behavior (Continueing to incorrectly categorize images and improperly using the aboutfile template despite a reminder) on the Super Mario Wiki. Please adhere to the rules or you will be blocked from editing this site. If you feel this warning was undeserved, you may appeal it. |
Please remember the above reminders. Thanks. Doomhiker (talk) 17:35, March 19, 2019 (EDT)
- You did not categorize your image at all. See the above reminders for how to categorize an image. Doomhiker (talk) 18:00, March 19, 2019 (EDT)
You're still not quite getting it. Again, you need to use square brackets, not curly brackets, the link must be preceded with the "Category:" namespace prefix, and our image categories has "Images" capitalised. The result is simply:
[[Category:Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island Images]]
You don't need to type in the {{Game screenshots}} part; the license you select in the drop-down menu already takes care of that. Please read through the above reminder carefully, feel free to ask if you have any questions. Mario JC 01:55, June 29, 2019 (EDT)
"Why would you intentionally misspell a word like that"[edit]
He didn't. He switched it to the American spelling, per policy. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 12:27, March 15, 2019 (EDT)
Succolourus[edit]
Is this name official? The comic strip seems to be edited and most Club Nintendo comics are in German. Also, we use American spelling, so gray should be spelt gray, not grey. Also it's is a contraction for it is, so saying something like "it's similar variations" should be spelt as "its similar variations", and we cannot use contractions anyways, so you would need to fully spell out it is when using it. Doomhiker (talk) 16:56, March 29, 2019 (EDT)
- You can add a reference as instructed on MarioWiki:Citations. Anyways, your link cannot be used as a reference due to being an unofficial translation, so the German version of the comic needs to be found first so the page can be moved. Doomhiker (talk) 17:10, March 29, 2019 (EDT)
- There is no tags for "unofficial translation", because we cannot use unofficial translations, period. Likewise, the page should not be deleted just because we cannot find its name, the page can be moved to a conjectural name for the time being until the original German comic is found. Distinguish templates[edit]
There is no need to use templates like the {{Distinguish}} (If it is used to distinguish between subjects of the same name) or {{about}} templates on pages with identifiers, as in the search bar when you search for example "Piranha Sprout" both of the pages with identifiers will show up, meaning that the user cannot confuse them if the pages have good identifiers (If they do not, then the pages will need to be moved in accordance with policy). Throw Block[edit]
Do you have a source for "Throw Block"? 16:28, May 9, 2019 (EDT)
Re:Cheep cheeps[edit]
"Of these two colors, only the latter ever appears in an underwater-themed level, specifically World 3-5." Like I said, read. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:26, October 10, 2019 (EDT)

“His in-game models never have teeth or even a mouth.”
What exactly does this mean? Does his model actually show him without a mouth, or is he just never seen without his bandana on? Green Star 12:42, August 18, 2021 (EDT)
- It means literally that, if you remove the bandanna, he doesn't have a mouth. You never see it in a game, so its probably just avoiding unnecessary work for the artists, but I thought it was worth mentioning - alongside the theorising - that he doesn't *actually* have a mouth in the games. April Fools[edit]
It's cool that you're getting in on the April Fools jokes, but please keep them out of the actual articles, thanks. Mario JC 06:46, April 1, 2023 (EDT)
- ok so what is the holiday for then, what can be edited Pallukun (talk) 06:49, April 1, 2023 (EDT)
- The staff decide what is done for April Fools every year. Nightwicked Bowser 06:53, April 1, 2023 (EDT)
- so regular users cant do anything? thats absurd, whats the point of holding the holliday at all if you're just going to prevent anyone from joining in? Pallukun (talk) 06:57, April 1, 2023 (EDT)
- Usually there's a new layout done on the home page that lasts for the day. If anything was to be done in the actual articles, it should get staff approval first. Nightwicked Bowser 07:03, April 1, 2023 (EDT)
