The Piranha Plant Orb is an orb in the Mario Party series, debuting in Mario Party 5 as the Piranha Plant Capsule and returning in Mario Party 6 and Mario Party 7 under its current name. When a player lands on a space with a Piranha Plant Orb, a Piranha Plant eats them, taking away half their coins, which are transferred to whoever placed at Piranha Plant Orb. The item is usable by the user themselves in Mario Party 5 by spending five coins, to no effect. The Piranha Plant Orb costs fifteen coins to buy at an Orb Shop in Mario Party 6 and Mario Party 7.
The item has a functional equivalent in Super Mario Party Jamboree titled the Half-Coins Steal Trap.
