Lord Fredrik employs ice dragons again to attack the [[Kong]]s during the battle in [[Volcano Dome]], using them in two ways. In one of Lord Fredrik's attacks, ice dragons launch from his horn in the background plane and crash down onto the arena to create slippery patches on the ground. When Lord Fredrik is on the same platform as the Kongs, ice dragons can also be sent horizontally towards them and can be avoided either by crouching if their wings are positioned upward, or by jumping over them if their wings are downward.
When he is introduced in the prologue along with the rest of the [[Snowmad]] fleet, Lord Fredrik is brought a heavy, magic blowhorn, used to release ice dragons. A powerful blow in the instrument turns into one such creature. The cold monster flies out, cleaving the air rapidly whilst surrounded by thick layers of clouds and fog. The dragon produces weather-changing winds and is set to glide about [[Donkey Kong Island]]. [[Donkey Kong]] and his friends, who are celebrating his birthday at the time, are blasted far away by the winds, and the island is left to be tranformed into an arctic wasteland by the the dragon's might. Lord Fredrik employs ice dragons again during the battle in Volcano Dome, this time as means of weaponry against the Kongs. The dragons dive down onto the arena, after signaling their coming with falling ice sheds. When colliding with the ground, they turn a patch of its surface into solid ice, making it slippery. Ice dragons can damage the Kongs if they crash onto them, depleting a heart from their heart meter.

Ice dragons,[1] also described as "dragon-shaped ice projectiles",[2] are enemies in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch port. They are airborne entities produced by Lord Fredrik's horn. One ice dragon first appears in the game's prologue, producing a blizzard on Donkey Kong Island that freezes it in the process, followed by the Snowmads settling on the island.
