Krossbones are semi-common enemies found in Creepy Castle and Fungi Forest at night. Unlike normal Kritters who attack by biting and punching, Krossbones attack by swinging a bone club that seems to be a part of their body. Krossbones can be defeated by simply pummeling them; whenever a Krossbones is hit with an attack, one of their body parts falls off. Krossbones also appear in several of the later Battle Arena Pads in Donkey Kong 64.  They take at the most, three hits before going down, though an Orange can destroy them instantly.

Skeleton Kremlings,[1] also called Bones,[2] are skeletal Kritter enemies in Donkey Kong 64. Skeleton Kremlings appear in Fungi Forest (in the nighttime), Creepy Castle, and in two of the later Battle Arena Pad stages of DK Isles and Creepy Castle. Unlike Kritters, Skeleton Kremlings attack by swinging their bone club at the player character, but take one to three hits to defeat; this is based on the strength of the Kongs' direct attacks, with weaker attacks merely removing the Skeleton Kremlings' head and left arm, while stronger attacks can defeat them without removing their body parts. Upon being defeated, Skeleton Kremlings lose balance and collapse on the ground. A Skeleton Kremling is instantly defeated from an orange, costing the Skeleton Kremling its head and left arm in the process, or from a musical instrument move.
