Bestiary charts
Because each enemy in this game has a lot of stats, the bestiary had to be split up into two charts (just like the bestiary for Super Mario RPG) and will be getting a third chart listing all the general notes for each enemy eventually. Should all three charts be present on the same page, or should they be moved to their own page without choking this one (i.e. "Paper Mario bestiary/Misc. stats", "Paper Mario bestiary/Moves and other notes")?<br>
I'd like to revamp the bestiary for the Thousand-Year Door eventually, but I like to know what the best way of organizing heavy-stat bestiaries would be. --Zootalo (talk) 10:36, 28 April 2015 (EDT)

Does the slot machine in Shy Guy's Toy Box have a set HP value in the coding? Binarystep (talk) 14:36, 1 May 2015 (EDT)
:Yes; the enemies "SlotMachineStart" and "SlotMachineEnd" are in sections 10, 12, and 27. They both are at level 99 and have 99 HP. --Kimimaru (talk) 18:52, 29 November 2017 (EST)

I think we should scrap "Good," "Fair," "Poor," and "Immune" because enemies have actual percentages defined in the game's battle scripts. This would be more accurate than what we currently have. --Kimimaru (talk) 18:57, 29 November 2017 (EST)
Up & Away For Bestiary
The article currently says this about Up & Away:
"Kalmar's Up and Away functions like Hurricane -- any enemies immune to Hurricane will also be immune to this move. Up and Away has near perfect accuracy against anything not immune to it, however, and thus is not listed in the chart."
This is incorrect. Each enemy has a separate entry in their battle scripts for being affected by Up & Away. The chance of being affected by Bow's Spook is actually shared with Hurricane, not Up & Away. Can we get a separate entry for Up & Away on the template used by the bestiary? --Kimimaru (talk) 01:08, 3 December 2017 (EST)
:While changing the status affliction chances to accurate percentages, I also added an "upandaway" field to the bestiary entries. WHY does every name here link to Lemmy's Land! And is this even needed! I mean, why does only PM have a bestiary? - Ultimatetoad 16:47, 25 February 2007 (EST)

Make one for Paper Mario 2 or someone else do and uhh...it should link to it's own article. Little Mouser.PNGPaper Jorge (Talk·Contribs)

/Tattle[edit]

Wouldn't it be best if this article would be called Paper Mario/Tattle Information, instead of PM/Bestiary. Most of it is tattle info anyway. Fawfulfury65

No, that wouldn't be best because a bestiary is also necessary for Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. There is no tattle information for that game, but Mallow does provide "Psychopath Thoughts", which are similar. Obviously the difference in names for a similar role creates a confusion of which should be the standard. Considering a bestiary (as per modern usage) is a source of information relating to enemies in a game, and descriptions aren't always applicable, the page really works best titled as a bestiary but with acknowledgment that is also serves the role of providing Tattle Information (The Super Mario RPG one would acknowledge its role providing Psychopath Thoughts, but would still function chiefly as a bestiary).

FA[edit]

I see this article fit for FA. Thoughts? --TucayoSig.png The 'Shroom 19:52, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

I don't see Shy Squad here... SWFlashSWFlash.svg

Bower Sprites[edit]

The sprite here for Bowser is different than the one on his page. Concerns? Personally, I prefer the one here, and I honestly don't think that the one on his page is even a sprite from the game.Jdrawer 17:58, 3 February 2012 (EST)

Fuzzipede Tattle[edit]

The Fuzzipede Tattle isn't actually a Tattle at all! It's what Goombario says near the Fuzzipede when you first get access to the Harbor. Fuzzi.png Blob55 (talk) 13:59, 12 December 2013 (EST)

That's because Fuzzipede actually lacks a Tattle Log. You can't tattle him in battle and there's none to be found in the ROM BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 14:03, 12 December 2013 (EST)
I know, but the article still lists it as a normal tattle. If you're going to include Fuzzipede, you should also include what Goombario says about your future partners, as you can see them in battle too.Blob55 (talk) 14:07, 12 December 2013 (EST)
There's actually an asterix to let readers know that it's not a tattle. Future partners aren't enemies though, with the exception of Lakilester. This lists only bosses and enemies. BabyLuigiFire.pngRay Trace(T|C) 14:09, 12 December 2013 (EST)
It says Fuzzipede still has Tattle information, which is why I implied someone ripped this text from the game, assuming it was hidden a hidden Tattle, like Albino Dino.Blob55 (talk) 14:15, 12 December 2013 (EST)

It doesn't. I just wanted to clarify that the Fuzzipede info that Goobario says isn't actually a Tattle log entry.Blob55 (talk) 14:47, 12 December 2013 (EST)

Questionable entries[edit]

Some of these entries, I believe, are wrong.

 • Amazy Dayzee is listed as an optional boss, but I highly doubt this - it rarely appears and doesn't even have any dialogue. Plus, what boss runs away from battle?
 • Blooper Baby is listed as a "main story boss"... do I really need to explain this?
 • Crystal Bit is listed as a mini-boss when it is really just used for the Crystal King's attack.

Also, Lava Piranha on fire needs a sprite. --Waluigi's head icon in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 17:08, 8 September 2014 (EDT)

Should all three charts be present on the same page, or should they be moved to their own page without choking this one (i.e. "Paper Mario bestiary/Misc. stats", "Paper Mario bestiary/Moves and other notes")?
I'd like to revamp the bestiary for the Thousand-Year Door eventually, but I like to know what the best way of organizing heavy-stat bestiaries would be. --Zootalo (talk) 10:36, 28 April 2015 (EDT)

Question[edit]

Does the slot machine in Shy Guy's Toy Box have a set HP value in the coding? Binarystep (talk) 14:36, 1 May 2015 (EDT)

Yes; the enemies "SlotMachineStart" and "SlotMachineEnd" are in sections 10, 12, and 27. They both are at level 99 and have 99 HP. --Kimimaru (talk) 18:52, 29 November 2017 (EST)

Revamp Status Ailment Information[edit]

Up & Away For Bestiary[edit]

The article currently says this about Up & Away: "Kalmar's Up and Away functions like Hurricane -- any enemies immune to Hurricane will also be immune to this move.

While changing the status affliction chances to accurate percentages, I also added an "upandaway" field to the bestiary entries. If we end up adding it to the template, the Up & Away stats should be good to go. --Kimimaru (talk) 04:32, 20 December 2017 (EST)
