RE:Ripping Music

Brawl's music comes in BRSTM files like these:

A3

You can't export them without BrawlBox; it can open them and export them as a readable .wav format. And yes, there is a way the music is labeled. A = Mario, B = Donkey Kong, etc. This is the Brawl track list: http://www.mediafire.com/download/jgmd833x1l0bpjn/Tracklist.doc

They are named differently in other games; in Mario Kart Wii, if you look in the sound folder, you'll see stuff like n_circuit32_n, that means Mario/Luigi Circuit, first and second lap. But the thing for sure is that if it's a BRSTM file, it's certain to contain music. Not all games contain these, however. Brawl certainly has these. Ray Trace^(T|C) 15:18, 28 September 2013 (EDT)

So...you want me to use 3D Ripper DX to get Baby Peach on that exact pose? Because otherwise, if you rip a model, it's t-posed unless you're using a 3D ripper program that captures what the scene is exactly like. I might do it sometime but, c'mon, I have a slew of other things to do, and I don't always want to play the emulator.

re:Filling the Staff/Beta Elements section

First, don't just copy random content from the target page. That's not acceptable.

For staff sections: I try to rattle off who did what "important" position (usually what company(ies) worked on the game, Director, producer, musician, and character design or writing depending on the game).

More importantly, though, I alway try to go above just listing stuff from the credits and establish continuity links. Stuff like "[X] was [Important employee]"'s first job at Nintendo/on Mario, "[Thing] was [Guy/Developer]'s last game before his death/departure/dissolution", "[X game] started the trend of..."... etc help add depth to the section. I also try to add random pertinent information whenever possible. For example, on the DKC page, I added which musicians did which part of the soundtrack, which is not necessarily something listed in the credits. If you dig around in game databases or read staff interview, there's ALWAYS something vaguely substantial you can add.

For beta: Just list what aspects were changed and where those development changes were visble ("Early screenshots showed minor graphical diffferences", "[Character] was mentioned in magazine previews, but cut from the final game..."), but don't go in-depth as to not make the Beta pages redundant. I've never really tried to fill Beta sections so I'm afraid I can't be quite as detailled here. --Glowsquid (talk) 10:09, 14 February 2014 (EST)

Oh, I found ut in game's data. I downloaded the MKWii game on the net, downloaded PC programs named Ctgo Usa iso converter and szs modifier Extracted game's files using CTGP USA ISO Converter and opened Race.szs (Where the images are found) using SZS midifier. So I've exported the files. This isn't illegal. I know that the images are if utem icons because are in an item list (inside Race.szs) and are named tt_item_hanachan and tt_item_hinoBall respectvely Ashley(and Red)

Great work! I was just curious because it is currently unused. You should have some knowledge of it. Don't forget to add it to List of Beta Elements. And next time, remember to add categories. In this case: Category:Mario Kart Wii Images, Category:Beta Images--

Re:Stickers

My problem is that we already do this with normal Mario art. We don't upload alternate art for Mario stickers, I figure, why not just do the same for non-Mario franchises? And the thing about image sizes: all stickers are scaled to 100x100 anyway, so I don't see how that's a problem. UM3000

For the size, I'm already thinking about removing the limit.. Otherwise I'm saying that looking for originality is better. And why keeping artworks for non-Mario subjects when there is another choice from a Mario-related game. Seeing other images on the list, they are already stickers, they just need to be simply updated, not go searching for artworks.--

In case you're wondering, we do use separate images for Mario-related stickers. We (or I) decided to upload sticker sprites because this is the way they're shown in-game, so maybe readers can have a better idea how large the stickers are. It's more accurate this way, and it doesn't hurt to upload sticker versions of existing artwork, just as how some people are uploading sprite versions of Brawl artwork. It's me, Mario! I don't want to mark it as personal or delete it. Personal images have a limit, and I'd rather not push it. As for deleting it, it would break a lot of links, although sig images have been deleted before, leaving being red 50px links. As for the open court: the image is here, according to the selection screen: the ballspeed is Normal, and so is the Bonuce. The description goes as "A special court for a special game.".. It is pretty pointless description by the way.--

Darn it!

As much as I wanted to rip sprites for myself, I never did that. To answer your question, well, I took the sheets from that site indeed. I do not own any original physical copies of games I took care of on this wiki, like Donkey Kong Land and Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, and instead either I own some on the 3DS Virtual Console or I played them on certain occasions. Thus, I really don't know how to rip sprites from games in such forms.

However, as long as some pages won't get any attention regarding sprites, grammar etc, I will assure the update of them. Of course, only if I am well informed, or prepared with images. Bye bye! -- -- KOOPA CON CARNE

I'm not sure if your screenshots' resolutions are allowed, as they may count as edited screenshots. The Wii and GameCube can't go higher than 640px in width and 480px in height (the Wii in widescreen has 360 pixels as its width). PikaSamus (talk) 18:14, 12 June 2014 (EDT)

This has been discussed before: The size doesn't matter, as long as the quality is high enough. This mostly pairs to high resolution, but having it the SD size of the consoles should do as well. It's not discouraged to upload images in HD. Except for videos saved on the ISO (like Brawl cut-scenes). You can raise any objections in your mind here.--

Yes, I will do it as quick as possible. However, I'm not sure if all of them can be rendered in higher quality as that in the game, some cutscenes do not use models, instead they use pre-rendered frames (similar to SSBB's cutscenes). We'll see about that. And sorry for the late response--
