Pair of Aces is a Bowser Jr. minigame in Mario Party 9. Its name likely comes from a term used in poker. Its controls are similar to those of the minigame Gun the Runner from Mario Party 8.
Introduction[edit]
Laughing, Bowser Jr. flies in his Junior Clown Car by a cloud, then into a clearer area. The players both fire their cannons in Bowser Jr.'s direction, but he dodges by moving in a circle.
Gameplay[edit]
The pair must try to shoot Bowser Jr. with cannonballs three times before time runs out. Bowser Jr. evades the cannonballs in one of several patterns, such as circles or zigzags. Occasionally, he shoots a fireball, which, if not dodged, prevents a player from firing for several seconds. Whenever a player hits Bowser Jr., he loses a heart and gains temporary invincibility.
