I've read that apparently, when it was playing as part of "Captain N and the Game Masters", the title cards for "Underworld Connections" and "Doppelganger" were switched around. # ''The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! and The Legend of Zelda would sometimes reference each other.'' | Referential coverage was never "good enough" for something to be covered separately on this wiki. The ending song "Do the Mario" is not enough either (it has a separate page as well).
In conclusion, this show only references (and is referenced by) the ''The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!'' and cross-promotes it. {{TPP}}
This page is only referentially related to the ''Super Mario'' franchise and does not have enough overlapping elements to consider it a guest appearance title. The arguments in support of keeping this page were rather weak as well: references to and from ''[[The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!]]'' aren't consequential enough to create a separate page. This wiki usually handles it on the list of references to/from the ''Super Mario'' franchise. However, to quote the page, "though it was still accompanied by live-action segments featuring Mario and Luigi. Some of these segments were included as part of The Legend of Zelda's later DVD release because Mario, Luigi, and/or the guest star would speak out to the audience to promote that week's episode of The Legend of Zelda, showing a preview consisting of scenes from the upcoming episode." I was sure this wiki already covered these segments separately, but I couldn't find the page for them. If the page doesn't exist, it should be created. As suggested by Camwoodstock, the ''[[The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!]]'' should have a sub-section explaining the overlap between the two shows.
If this proposal passes, this page will be redirected to ''[[The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!]]''.<br>[[MarioWiki:Coverage#Package deals]] would also need to be updated, as it mentions this show.

#{{User|Axii}} Per proposal.
#{{User|Super Mario RPG}} All of the cross references between ''Super Mario'' and ''The Legend of Zelda'' can be referred to easily on ''The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!'' and it helps avoid redundancy. Also, we have Zelda Wiki for those who want to help out with information on the Zelda TV show, and I think Nintendo101 is going to create a page summing up ''The Legend of Zelda'' content in ''Super Mario'' media. Basically, this article is redundant.
#{{User|Camwoodstock}} After seeing the current state of the Super Show article--seriously, we're quite surprised at how much it's been whipped into shape since last we saw it, and it (for the most part) suitably covers the dual release with this show--and with the "if this passes, we will merge some information over to it into a dedicated section" in mind, we understand where this proposal is coming from a lot better. Our only real concerns are some weird edge cases, like how to cross-link to the Zelda Wiki, but it's nothing substantial enough that we don't feel confident in switching our vote around.
#{{User|Soshi The Yoshi}} Per all. Unlike ''Captain N: The Game Master'', there is not enough Mario influences that warrant a separate page besides maybe the exclusive live-action segments, so a brief section on the main ''Super Show!'' article is more suitable for the Zelda cartoon.
#{{User|Starluxe}} Per all
#{{User|Mario}} I disagree with LeftyGreenMario in the older proposal, whoever that was. Not very relevant to MarioWiki outside of a trivia point in the ''The Fake Mario Show'' page. Merge and redirect.

<s>#{{User|Camwoodstock}} This might be a hot take (we can't tell, this is the first vote that isn't the creation of the proposal), but we think this article still has ''some'' merit. It's nice to have an article explaining the whole "brother/sister show" release that this had with ''Super Show'', as well as consolidating the references to/from the ''Super Show'', all into the same article. While the relevance of the show itself is dubious, the circumstances surrounding it aren't, if that makes any sense. We also disagree heavily with the idea of redirecting to ''Super Show'' if this passes; unless we intend to merge the information about the mutual releases to the page, a redirect like that would feel almost nonsensical to someone not already aware of the fact the two shows were linked like that.</s>

:<s>We SWEAR this wasn't there like a week ago, when did an entire column of the Zelda cartoon releases in the releases section spawn in--</s> Oh! While we still personally would rather keep the page, we do at least understand the thought process for the redirect and are fine with that much. We would maybe like to suggest at least a sub-section in the "Production" section explaining the dual show-thing, with merging some of its information over? As it stands, the Zelda cartoon information is still a bit spread out. {{User:Camwoodstock/sig}} 10:21, January 2, 2025 (EST)

Okay, so there were minor connects (e.g.Mario's mother likes this show) but why do we have this on a MARIO wiki? HyperToad

The series was advertisd by Mario and Luigi a lot, and in a way, The Legend of Zelda show was still part of the Super Show. The Legend of Zelda even aired with a live-action segment featuring Mario. Lotsa connections. Paper Jorge ( Talk·Contributions)·GENO WHIRL!
I see your point, but still, it seems too remote... HyperToad
It does, but it's also a popular show in the real world. It's just like Toad Force V. Paper Jorge ( Talk·Contributions)·

We should talk about this one[edit]

As far as I can tell, there is nothing Mario-related about this.

  1. [It] was part of the same syndication package as The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! | I can't recall a single instance of this wiki covering something just because it was grouped with a Mario product.
  2. ...Though it was still accompanied by live-action segments featuring Mario and Luigi | We cover these segments already, it shouldn't mean this series deserves to have a separate page.
  3. Some of these segments were included as part of The Legend of Zelda's later DVD release because Mario, Luigi, and/or the guest star would speak out to the audience to promote that week's episode of The Legend of Zelda, showing a preview consisting of scenes from the upcoming episode. | Same as before, these segments are covered separately.
  4. The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! and The Legend of Zelda would sometimes reference each other. | Referential coverage was never "good enough" for something to be covered separately on this wiki. The ending song "Do the Mario" is not enough either (it has a separate page as well).

In conclusion, this show only references (and is referenced by) the The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! and cross-promotes it. There is very little overlap (like the ending song), but it's not nearly enough to consider it a guest appearance title. Axii (talk) 02:15, December 31, 2024 (EST)

A proposal to overwrite a decade old proposal[edit]

A Yellow Block from Super Mario World This talk page section contains an unresolved talk page proposal. Please try to help and resolve the issue by voting or leaving a comment.

Current time: Thursday, January 2, 2025, 20:32 GMT

The arguments in support of keeping this page were rather weak as well: references to and from The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! aren't consequential enough to create a separate page. As suggested by Camwoodstock, the The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! should have a sub-section explaining the overlap between the two shows.

If this proposal passes, this page will be redirected to The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!.
MarioWiki:Coverage#Package deals would also need to be updated, as it mentions this show.
